February 2006 Updates
February 25th, 2006: Just some general housekeeping
It's been a week or two since my last update, but I've been keeping busy! Today, I present to you, not only the re-instatement of reviews (yay! you can check them out by clicking here...), but lots of new lyric translations!
Camila, our Portuguese lyrics translator, brings you ten new songs, which you can find on the lyrics page. Not only that, but there are two new French translations by Delf for Here We Go! and Over Rainbow Tour. Lastly, a new Italian translation of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang!
Not only that, but I ended up reformatting 10 more lyrics in the English section, making the transition to PHP encoding complete. I also went through and fixed errors on 53 other pages...today I spent about 6 solid hours on coding alone, not to mention the graphics designs for the March review songs.
So for now, I am finished working on the site for today. Reviewers, your songs are due by the 28th of March -- so get to work! I'll be receiving reviews again via e-mail (in case you had forgotten, I'm still over at elly@reisei-sa.net...) so start sending them in!
This is an exhausted Elly signing out. Hope you enjoy the updates; have a great day!
February 12th, 2006: A Day that Shall Live in Infamy
Hooray! As of today, the transition of this site over to PHP is complete. With tons of help from Miri in reformatting the lyrics database and giving overall scores to reviews (which you can now find on the review archive page!) this website is finally up to par as I'd like it. There are, of course, still some new things on the way: new reviews for March (possibly) and some new translations from Moriwaka Kaori and other artists if I can manage to find the time. And then of course I'd like to re-instate reviewing, if I ever get around to it ^ ^; For now, I think March reviews are a definite, possibly just a continuation of reviews of BGMs from the DJMoon 1 soundtrack.
I hope by now that you, dearest visitor, have noticed the array of layouts that you may choose from. The coding is cross-browser compatible -- meaning whether or not you have Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Opera, all of the layouts and the css coding should look the same to you. I hope that everyone enjoys this change. Now that the major reformatting is out of the way, I hope that Ballads & Bows can continue to be the same great project it has always been. The slow times are past (hopefully!) and we can continue to move ahead in our mission.
A big thanks to those of you who have helped me along. Primarily, to Miri-chan, whose help was essential in reformatting this site. I really doubt that I would have found the drive to do it all myself otherwise. Then there are the other staff members, whose constant begging for more updates and a continuation of the website really helped me stay focused throughout the transitional period. Lastly, there are the fans, who found the time to e-mail me encouragement and words of praise on the website. I thank you all. I really am touched.
So for now, enjoy this massive update. Also, the translation of Everlasting Love by Alisa Durbrow is now online -- please check it out! Enjoy the changes, and have a great day!
