Review Outline
As a member of the staff or as a guest reviewer, there are certain guidelines to reviewing each song that you must meet. If a requirement is not met, or is improperly done (see the rules), your review will not be posted. Below is a list of the components you are required to examine in each and every song. Please make your reviews as thourough as possible within these componenets. Thanks.
Tone/Mood
Under this heading, you should write the feelings you interpret when listening to this song. Are you happy, sad, mellow, hyper, ect? Please write why you feel that way when hearing this song. This would also be a good place to bring up the first time you heard the song: as part of the episode, as a bgm, or downloaded on BT or IRC? Another nice thing to write about is whether or not you like the feeling you get when listening to this song. If you're not a hyper person, then maybe Over the Rainbow Tour pisses you off. Say what you feel.
Placement
Does the song fit well where it was placed within the context of the series? If the song being reviewed has not been featured in the show itself (ie: a actresses single outside of pgsm, like Koi no Soldier) then leave this part blank. Otherwise, comment on the Act it was first featured in, and Acts it has been featured in after that. Please be as specific as possible, and explain why or why not you feel that the song was placed well. This part should be a bit lengthy.
Memorable
Is this song memorable to you? Is it a trademark of the show, or of a particular actress/actor in the show? Do you sing this song at home or have a copy of it in your car? Please give as many details as you can.
Lyrics
Do you feel that the lyrics of the song work well within the context of the music? Do you feel that the lyrics fit in to the context of the show? Please express those thoughts here. If you found a particular phrase or stanza of the music beautiful, please write about it. There are lyric translations for each song you are required to review for a specific purpose; you will use them in your review. I feel that in order to properly comment on the lyrics, you need to understand them in your own language! You are to comment on the lyrics as to whether or not they make sense within the context of the song, and within the context of the series itself. If you don't comment on the actual lyrics in the review, how am I supposed to know you read them? It's in your best interest to use the lyrics themselves in your review, since I know that you're following the guideline, and it makes your review better. Translations are currently provided for English only.
Overall Rating
This is where you will rate the song, from 1-5, 1 being the lowest score and 5 being the highest. Little heart images from the Sailor Moon: Another Story video game are used in ratings. Please use no more than 5 hearts in rating something, even if you really love the song. After you give your rating, explain your reasons for giving that song that score. We want your opinion!
Thanks for reading this outline. Be sure that your review meets the requirements listed above. Reviewing is supposed to be fun, so don't get too bogged down by the guidelines. Be creative and express yourself as best as you can! Thanks for reading!
