About Ballads & Bows

Ballads & Bows debuted in November of 2004 as a Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon music reviewing website. Our focus was purely on the live-action version of Sailormoon music, and purely on reviewing the songs featured in it. But, B&B grew, and eventually began to house quite an extensive translated lyrics archive. At one point, we offered translations of PGSM music in six languages! But after two years, we ran out of PGSM music to review, and I got very busy with college. Ballads & Bows went on an indefinite hiatus in 2006, and was not revived until early 2008.

While B&B was closed, I was very nostalgic for the site. I loved having a huge staff that did so many reviews. I liked how it felt to have accomplished putting online so many lyric translations. I made so many friends through B&B that I began to lose touch with, and this bothered me. So in mid-2007 I decided that I would rehaul Ballads & Bows, but make it into something even grander. Today, Ballads & Bows reviews and translates the music from all versions of Sailormoon, with a reviewing system that is much more streamlined and user friendly. I have been fortunate enough to even hang on to some friends who were some of the original reviewing staff from the old B&B who are interested in this expanded project. And I'm hoping that by opening up our base of operation more broadly, we will be able to draw in more fans and more reviewers -- making this place even better than it ever could have been with just PGSM music.

Ballads & Bows is, primarily, a place for fans of Sailormoon to come together and interact. Not the way they do on a forum -- anyone can make chitchat -- but I wanted to give fans a place to constructively discuss an aspect of Sailormoon that everyone has an opinion on. This isn't really *my* website; this is a website for any fan of Sailormoon who wants to give their opinion about the music. And I hope it will stay that way for many years to come.
