Ilse's review of Rashiku Ikimasho

Tone/Mood: I really remember this one very well! I first heard the ending when I saw the Sailor moon Super S Ami-chan no Hatsukoi! I enjoyed it soo much! I searched all around the web, to find the karaoke, and when I found it, I wouldn't stop singing! I also made my own dutch (because, yes, that's were I'm from) lyrics over and over again, to make it fit, and I was so happy! I think I was 13 years old! I used to review the songs from pgsm. That sure is a long time ago... But right, now, I still like it, because it brings back memories from my friends at that time, and the stories I used to write while listening to this song.
Placement: As the Ami-chan no Hatsukoi ending, and for the rest of the Super S ending. I didn't really like the Chibi-usa version, a bit too corny for me -.-. It was also that I saw the Chibi-usa version after I saw the Hatsukoi ending.
Memorable: Yep, it sure is. It brings back my eternal memories of youth! ^^; (corny isn't it?) And I still like it even after three years! That should prove it's memorable, at least for me.
Lyrics: I already like this song without even knowing the lyrics. This should be the first time I take a close look at the translation of the japanese lyrics.
La la la
Never give up, do your best
I'll give you a little shove
A lighthearted moment
The age of puberty
It's OK to re-write it
Your loving profile
*laughs*, oops looks like I'm caught, this really resembles my life back then! And right now -.-! I never knew the translation was like this! I'd sure like to rewrite my loving profile, if I'd have the chance...

That five hearts for one of the jewels in the Sailor Moon collection! It really treasures some personal memories. I really think people who don't like this song should give it a second chance, just skip the Chibi-usa <3 pegasus part, and it's a good song to listen to!
Ilse's review of La Soldier

Tone/Mood: Alright, I'm ready to play the song, and I don't know what to expect. *music plays* My first impression is very interesting intro. As the song continues it sounds like a typical 90's techno song! I guess the sailorsenshi are singing the song. It's very upbeat. I like it! Probably a good song to give you some spirit to do something you don't like, such as cleaning your room. La SOLDIER! GO! It gives you courage. Yes, that's it. Courage. But is that a wolf crying through the song? It sounds a bit weird to me... Yes, I can imagine people dancing to this song. If I would have the talent, I would have joined them on the stage!
Placement: From what I've heard, it's a Sera Myu musical song. Unfortunately, I've never seen those musicals. May be I should see them. It could also have been in the anime, it sounds as good as Ai no Senshi, so it should be fitting, right?
Memorable: I've just heard the song for the first time, and it's already stuck in my head. My feet won't stop moving! But I'm not sure if I'll remember this song, you should ask me within two weeks :)
Lyrics: On this point, I totally agree with Elly, the lyrics really describe the relationship between Mamoru and Usagi, and the rest of the story.
We'll meet again tomorrow
It's been 200 years but the same fate has come to meet us
I have the idea that the lyrics stick more closely to the manga than some other songs in the anime version. That's very good, I liked the manga version too.

This song earns 4 hearts from me! Not 5, because I don't know the song very well, and I'll probably need more time to appreciate it to it's fullest. Now, I'm off to find some clips from the Sera Myu musicals!
Ilse's review of Sakura Fubuki
![]()
Tone/Mood: Yes, I sure remember this one from my old days at B&B! Let's see what I said about this song back then... Catchy. Yes it's still catchy. I still like this song very much, but I don't really play it very often. I should play it more. I like the bridge, with the pa-pa-pa thingy, kind of spanish. Too bad that the title isn't really original, I've now already seen hundreds of songs that are named Sakura Fubuki.
Placement: It was featured in the second pgsm act I ever saw, act 23. It was so cute, when Mars sang it to all the cute little children! They also used the song in the Kiari*live performance, where the song became a duet between Keiko and Chisaki/Rika (I don't remember what her real name is!). The dance was very relaxed, almost boring. They should have used the spanish thingy! But it was the same like in act 23, Keiko was standing still, and was only singing. But the kids loved it! (I think). It was featured on the Mars character single along with Hoshi Furu Yuake.
Memorable: I still knew the song! Woohoo! I could even sing along the first couplet and the refrain! Yes, it is a memorable song. It was the first pgsm song I ever heard, and I liked it at once. I still suck at singing the karaoke version... --.-- I should practice more.
Lyrics:
There's no such thing as God
But I want to believe in something
And time hasn't stopped yet
Just because I don't want to become an adult
Ok, I still like the lyrics. They have some kind of function. They tell the story of some girl that doesn't want to become an adult. I can really understand that, because when you grow up, every time you receive more responsibility, wenever you like it or not. You need to find your own way, you need to decide what you want to do after you graduate, and after that, you need to find your own residence. Growing up is hard, so you look for something to believe in.

Allright, that's a half heart less than the last time I reviewed this song. That's because I hadn't seen the Kiari* Super Live yet, and I really think they kind of underestimated this song. The dance was a little bit boring. Shame... But the lyrics are great, and the melody too.

Tone/Mood: O..K..... I don't really like this song... The melody is a bit one tone, not really surprising if you listen to the music. I think I'm in the wrong age to really like this... It's 2008 right now, not the 90's. I was able to like La Soldier, because, in fact I am able to appreciate techno. But this song... No, unfortunately not. It sounds a bit like a low-budget song... Too electrical/ keyboard...
Placement: In the Sera Myu musicals. May be I should hear the song with a clip.
Memorable: No, I'm sorry this one not. I've only heard it once now, and I think it's a bit annoying. Let's hope the lyrics are memorable.
Lyrics: A glass ring The galacy faces defeat
Instead of the stars, let's go ourselves
In a flash of lightning it becomes a staircase
The sailor soldiers will take to the sky
Woops, now I get an image of Sailor senshi being launched like rockets!
Dead in a wasteland, these dinosaur bones
Fossils and flowers can be restored to life
Revolving to the contrary, it's time
Because I want to see the Sailor soldiers
I like this one better, I think it kind of describes the view of Pluto, since she's the keeper of the time-gate and is able to travel through time. Yes, I like this mini pluto tribute.

*Hides her head from flying tomatoes being thrown* I'm sorry, I can't give it more than this! The extra half is purely for the couplet involving time. Too bad, they should've done lesser sound effects, they are kind of corny.

Tone/Mood: Alright, a song by the voice-actress of Sailor Neptune. The song starts very calm and relaxing, and it remains that way. I'm surprised, I never heard a song by Katsuki Masako before. Sometimes she doesn't reach the note entirely, but that's forgivable. The song contains yet again, like the most of the Sailor Moon songs a lot of synthesizer. I think that more authentic instruments would make the song more beautiful. Too bad synthesizers were very popular in the 90's.
Placement: Only on a single. Too bad that Neptune isn't a singer in the anime! It would have fitted in really good.
Memorable: Yeah, I think it is memorable. This is the first song I ever heard by Katsuki-san, so I think from now on, I'll hear this song immediately whenever I see an image of Michiru, or Sailor Neptune.
Lyrics:
Under an expansive sky
I had been always searching
For your warm eyes
This fate so beautifully
Brings out the sparkles
In my tears
They are ok, I guess. I hoped for some more Haruka reference in the lyrics, but for now I'm content with this.

4 hearts, is my overall rating, because the lyrics are fine, and the voice of Katsuki-san too. And they should have used more classical instruments, for instance, a REAL piano, instead of a keyboard. Then Haruka would have played it, like she did in the manga ^^
Ilse's review of Ai no Senshi

Tone/Mood: Yet another electronical song, but a nice one. I compared this one with La Soldier, and I think they could have used this one also in the musicals. When I found the mp3 of this one I was so happy! It's an upbeat song, and really "epic", if you can get what I mean. The senshi are going to face a battle, and they are going to kick some ass!
Placement: In episode 68, I was like WOW! The scene and the music fit so perfectly! The whole showoff between Mars and Coan, Mercury and Berthier, Venus and Calaveras, Jupiter and Petz, it was just too awesome! I don't really remember the scene from 102.
Memorable: Heh, I remember this one very well. When I hadn't found full sailor moon episodes yet, I searched arround the web, and I found this clip from episode 68, the Black Moon sister vs. Sailor Senshi fight. I freaked out of joy, the quality was very good, and even better, the scene was to awesome to describe. The song could be named as one of the main themes of Sailor Moon.
Lyrics:
Of course I'll have to take care of it
I'll fight them with my own hands, their evil
That's right, until then we'll do our best
Please awaken, soldiers of love
The lyrics really fit the song and the theme of Sailor Moon. A kickass song!

Five hearts for one of the best and most memorable songs of Sailor Moon. I only wish they would have used the song a bit more in the series...
Ilse's review for Ai wa Enaji

Tone/Mood:
Ooh, I still remember this one! I had never heard of the song before, and I was on some downloading site, and I decided to put it on a disc. First I didn't really like the song with all the bells etc, but after I heard it a few times, I actually began to like it. It even became my catchphrase for a while, "Love is Energy". It really felt comforting to me, it really calmed down. It sure brings back memories. When I listened to the song, I had my first serious love! It never worked out... But I still feel happy, that I'm able to go through all those happy feelings again thanks to this song...
Placement:
I don't really remember if they used it in the series. I think they should have, because the song is really cute, and would be perfect to show a love moment between Usagi en Mamo-chan.
Memorable:
Yes, certainly when it became my catchphrase, and when I had it in my msn username! I also made many drawings inspired by the "Love is Energy!" The song just belongs in my memories with my old self. Back then, I had my dreamsummer...
Lyrics:
Wow. I never looked really at the lyrics before, after I saw the title, but now I actually read them... I think they're so CORNY! Phrases here have been used over and over again! Like this: "The crystal petals of glittering light.." Or: We can withstand any storm It's not that I hate everything, but some things just have been used to much. In fact, I do like the part with the hot tears. Well anyway, I do like the main theme: Love is Energy, and it gives protection.

The lyrics are corny, but I still give the song five hearts, since it's impossible to hate this song when you have such beautiful memories of the times back then.
