Iron Mouse reviews I am Sailor Moon

Tone/Mood

~This is a a sweet, happy, upbeat song that truly captures the essence of a young Usagi upon her first days as Sailor Moon. When you hear this song you can't help but sing along with it. Since it is sung by Mituishi Kotono, Sailor Moon's voice actress, you really feel the senshi awakening within her. Her innocence shines through and brings a smile to my face every time I hear it.

Placement

~It was used as the ending theme song for the Make-Up Sailor Senshi special that accompanied the R movie. This special told of how the senshi each became a soldier. It is perfect placement because the song captures the innocence of Usagi first transforming into Sailor Moon and it is in the short feature where the girls first discover their senshi abilities within.

Memorable

~Extremely. Hearing Usagi's sweet voice singing about becoming Sailor Moon will touch the heart of any fan of the series.

Lyrics

~The entire song talks about her awakening to the soldier within and memories of her life on the Moon flooding back.

Suddenly I turn my head
Feeling like somebody called out my name
Blooming out, the pale flowers of anxiety
I am the one who is doing the searching

This describes her first meeting with Luna, Usagi is terrified of fighting but knows she must. She is also the chosen one to find the princess.

From so long ago, that white moon above
Shining brightly with gold
This is
The secret palace
Within my spirit, all at once
The flowers of my beating heart
Call me, I will come near, and you will bloom

This part screams out about life as Princess Serenity, the memories that are hidden within Usagi. Mamoru is searching for the key to unlock his own hidden memories and Usagi is just that. Once they get together and the time is right they will discover that they are destined to be together.

Overall Rating

~ An astounding 5 stars! If I could give more I would. Never have I heard a song so perfectly embodies the feeling of a character. This is my absolute favorite song!

Iron Mouse Reviews Knockin' Down Hesitation

Tone/Mood

~ This is such a fun, upbeat song that always makes me want to get up and dance. The girls singing are most definitely having fun and that overflows into your home and into your being. If you are feeling down, put this song on (preferably the longer version) and you will start feeling better!

Placement

~It is a bit of a random song and would only work exactly where it is placed. In both the Stars and Stars K musicals there is a talent show. Knockin' is the song Usagi, Seiya, Taiki and Yaten sing as their talent entrance. If you're in a talent competition crowd participation usually count for some points and this song will make an entire audience clap along!

Memorable

~A resounding YES! to this question. I find that this is one song I keep wanting to replay on my iPod when I'm on a cross-country flight. Also, it is my cell phone's ring tone. I may sound biased because I love this song so much but it makes every fiber of my being want to don a silver lame outfit, black visor, silver go-go boots and a bright yellow wig! How can you not forget Usagi bouncing around singing some weird engrish to that tune?

Lyrics ~ If you act positive, that's all right! That one line sums up Usagi's personality.

Don't keep suffering alone
Walk out towards the light
Talk to someone next to you
Show your white teeth and laugh

Again, extremely Usagi-esque. This is something she would do, go to town and make a friend just by talking to them.

Overall Rating

~This deserves 5 hearts. It has a wonderful beat, is memorable, fits perfectly in the show. What more can you ask out of a talent show entry during a Sera Myu performance?
