A Place in the Sun

Kuroki Mio - Kara

TONE/MOOD:

Like a lot of Moeko's stuff, very upbeat and unassuming. It's very innocent and hopeful - very up-front. The guitar isn't heavy, but it stands out nicely. The backing vocals weren't intrusive, either; so the melody carried clearly over everything.

PLACEMENT:

MEMBORABLE:

As nice as it is, the melody and lyric placement are a bit too disjointed for it to be hummable. The chorus is fairly steady, though, so it's easy to walk away remembering that.

LYRICS:

Like the tone, very innocent and simplistic. Not that that's a bad thing.

Time has just started
The road goes on forever
It's a pleasant surprise that I can't hear the city
I just want to see the sun

They're fresh and simple, like the music they accompany.

OVERALL:

4 out of 5. Nearly perfect, but not quite as memorable as I hoped.

Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

TONE/MOOD:

Eh. It’s another typical Moeko-y happy song. The pattern is getting tiresome. Really, this song doesn’t interest me much.

PLACEMENT:

MEMBORABLE:

No.

LYRICS:

The god laughs at my T-shirt in the wind as I open the window that faces east
There are anxious feelings here
They laugh at the design of my clothes
It's already my time again
Who isn't wearing pretty things

WTF?! This simply doesn’t make sense.

OVERALL:

Blah.

Sailor Saturn - Miri-chan

Tone/Mood

It's so relaxed and fun. Has a slight little touch of country in there that makes the title very believable. I love the syncopated notes, and the chorus just blew me away!! I loved the high notes, which made it very lilting and melodic.

Memorable

Not much different from other works, but I have to say that the chorus was so beautiful it stuck in my mind for a while.

Lyrics

Now I'm looking up
The future puzzles me
The feeling of happy tears is good
Tomorrow will begin again

BEAUTIFUL. It describes our feelings so well.

Overall Rating

5 out of 5. I have no complaints.

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone/Mood

Mellow is the only word I can come up with to describe this song. I think if I listened to this song at night, I'd fall asleep in 5 minutes. Hmmmm I should try it then. :P The song has a pretty melody and it doesn't make me cringe. Heh. I bet after listening it a couple of times, I can sing it word for word. But I'm not gonna attempt it because I don't like it that much. The fact that I'm falling asleep while typing this is proof of it being a mellow song.

Placement

Memorable

No. Well, unless you go to sleep with the song on repeat.

Lyrics

"Time has just started
The road goes on forever
It's a pleasant surprize that I can't hear the city
I just want to see the sun"

Hrmm...To me the lyrics are kind of bland. Nothing strikes me as bold or interesting. However, this little portion did make some kind of "comotion". She's in the country side and happy that there's no noise to kill the moment. Getting away from the hetic life of the city is refreshing and enjoyable and I think she's stating that.

3 out of 5. Snore here and there. Mellow songs just have that affect on me.

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan

Tone/Mood

I like how upbeat this song sounds. I picture Moeco like walking playfully down a street singing this song, just from the beat. Is that weird? Hmm.

Placement

Memorible

I think this is one of her better songs. I’ll remember it better than her other pieces.

Lyrics

OOO The words were a little crazy in this song! I think my favorite line is the one that opens the song,

"The god laughs at my T-shirt in the wind as I open the window that faces east"

Because it makes little sense, but is a cute lyric! Pretty words. I could relate to it at times as well, like when she sings this,

"Now I'm looking up
The future puzzles me
The feeling of happy tears is good
Tomorrow will begin again"

That fits how I’ve been feeling since college started for me! WOOT!

Overall Rating

I give it a 4 because I really like this song. XD

Nephrite - Frosted_Rain

Tone/Mood

Nice intro with the drums. Can go easily for an acoustic version for this song. Moeco sung this song pretty good. Calm and easy, as the song’s message goes. The most relaxing and one of my 2 favorite songs sung by Moeco.

Memorable

During those boring nights of nothing to do, I play this song to bring sunshine during the nights. Kinda odd but relaxing...

Lyrics

I'm feeling joyful
I can feel the breeze of my heart
Only my eyes can read this
This moment is fleeting

Time has just started
The road goes on forever
It's a pleasant surprise that I can't hear the city
I just want to see the sun

A feeling of renewal after the storm, that’s what I think of lyrics. The feel of freedom and easiness... so light... (^_^)

Overall Rating

Ahh, one of my personal favorites from Moeco’s song. Goes for a 5-heart rating for me. So easy… so calm... so light... That’s how I feel as I listen to the song, as if words can’t express it’s meaning (getting confused here on just a song, my bad. (v_v)

Sailor V - Jessica

Tone/Mood

The music isn’t that upbeat, but her voice does the rest to make it a positive sounding song. Its not too hyper trying to be cute, which is a blessing. Unfortunately the track sounds a little bland, as her voice doesn’t seem to reach any extreme notes or pitch dramatically higher or lower.

Placement

None in PGSM

Memorable

Not particularly.

Lyrics

The god laughs at my T-shirt in the wind as I open the window that faces east.
There are anxious feelings here.

Erm...what? Not a great deal of this song seems to make any sense, its as if its trying to convey a certain feeling and can’t quite find the words to do so.

1/5

Sailor Pluto - Sailorasteroid

Mood:

Has a retro feel to it. Would not be out of place in a '60s club where young up-and-coming singers tried to get discovered.

Placment:

None, and I'm too close to deadline to come up with anything witty.

Memorable:

Actually, yes. The guitar jam is noticable enough that the song will stick with you I think.

Lyrics:

The rambling poetry is toned down, and in any case it fits with the tune. The bit about the home town is a nice image.

Overall:

Atypical. Which is good. Three.
