Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

TONE/MOOD:

Aww, this song is so calm and pretty. It’s really nice. And really fun to sing along with. ^^; Really though, if I didn’t know they were the same person, I probably wouldn’t be able to guess that this was the same woman who sang "Kirai Sailor Dream". The two sound totally different. Not to say that’s a bad thing!

PLACEMENT:

MEMBORABLE:

Hmm, when stacked up to some of Sae’s other songs, not really.

LYRICS:

You're the only one who still cares
I think I've found what I'm looking for
And it shines

I really like these lines, but the rest of the song is "WTF" inducing. Make up your mind!

OVERALL:

4 out of 5

Kuroki Mio - Kara

TONE/MOOD:

This has a nice variant spreading out over the course of the whole song. It doesn't stick within one style or feeling, and it has a sort of upward progression from the verse into the chorus. The energy is nice and high without losing any of its more introspective sound. I'm in love with the chord progressions and the heavy backing vocals, as well.

PLACEMENT:

N/A

MEMORABLE:

Definitely. It's one that begs repeat listenings.

LYRICS:

I love how this song doesn't feel the need to have a soppy arrangement to go with the lyrics. More often than not it would seem to warrant that sort of orchestration, but there's a strength behind the lyrics that goes along perfectly with the music.

It was a nice time while it lasted
But these things always change when they get to be too much
Honestly, I cried after it ended

Introspective, yet extroverted. Strange to say, but they have a nice duality to them.

OVERALL:

4 out of 5 hearts. Very, very nice.

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

TONE/MOOD:

The beginning of the song is quite peaceful and mellow. Sae just has that soft yet powerful voice and this song is beautifully done on her part. However, I don't see myself listening to it over and over again. I would have to be in the mood to even listen to this song- most likely when I'm depressed. ^^;

PLACEMENT:

MEMORABLE:

No.

LYRICS:

"That lonliness...It won't always be that way
The class hangs on the movement of your lips
It was a nice time while it lasted
But these things always change when they get to be too much
Honestly, I cried after it ended"

To me, this part of the lyrics tells me that a relationship just ended. A "too good to be true" or "it was good while it lasted" (ha!) sceniro. I think most of the population out there has had this type of relationship where it dies out. Maybe you or the other half didn't want it to, but things just didn't work out like you would have hoped. It's life.

OVERALL:

2/5! A nice mellow song that puts your mind at ease. I know that Sae has a powerful voice as we have all heard it and I think songs of that genre would suit her better then what was heard today.

Sailor Pluto - Sailorasteroid

Mood:

the song gets credit for not being typical, but still doesn't have the courage to be *something*. It's like a lump of unformed clay, that could be made into a ballad, or a swing beat, or other styles, but comes off lacking.

Placement:

of an Angle? A Cartesian plane?

Memorable:

Fails to be. The beginning with the choral chant was the most interesting part, and I hoped the song would expand on the chant's potential.

Lyrics:

rare for Japanese, the lyrics actually flow--they don't rhyme, but there's more poetry than usual. Note that in the chorus the first and third kana of each line is of the "a" order. The words fit the music without a lot of vocal interpretation.

Overall:

Well written, good use of the medium, but no point to it. Three.

Sailor Mercury - Alexander

TONE/MOOD:

When I started listening to "Angle", I got a bit dissapointed of the begining because it sounds like a Christmas song. The mood is calm, unlike the chorus which is up-beat. I like it better than the other part of the song. Sae has done a great job singing this peace, but it's definately not my favourite. Perhpas composers shouldn't have made "Angle" so calm.

PLACEMENT:

-

MEMORABLE:

No. I like songs with more up-beat mood.

LYRICS:

"I want you a lot and I've always believed"
"You've been gone a lot. I've been searching forever for you."

I really don't know what to say. OMG... The lyrics are romantic, but I am rather tired of romantic lyrics. Shouldn't they think of something original? Something that we haven't heard? Something new?

OVERALL:

1/5 I don't like this peace. I didn't enjoy listening to it because I think that it's really boring. *yawns*

Dark Sailor Mercury - Ilse

Tone/Mood:

It starts with some people singing (ahhahahaaaaaaaaahhhhh). Then it finally really starts. It’s not really special, but it’s the first I hear from Sadifferent. I don’t like it THAT much, but it’s okay

Placement:

On Wing

Memorable:

Nah, not really

Lyrics

You've always got such pretty thoughts
Where nothing sudden can interrupt your destiny
Doko ni ite nani wo shiteru jibun ga? (hey, this line isn’t translated!)
Where do you believe you're going
It's not that simple

You've been gone a lot. I've been searching forever for you.
Who else wasn't sorry, Who got so upset over nothing
Depending on the buildings in the city to give you a 360 change into light
You're the only one who still cares Tu lu lu lu...
I think I've found what I'm looking for
And it shines

They are not that special. That’s why the song isn’t memorable

Overall rating:

I give it 3 hearts. I like the other songs better

Sailor Saturn - Miri-chan

Tone/Mood

The beginning sounds like a church song. And then it starts into the actual singing and it starts sounding like an upbeat funeral song. Unique, I must admit!

Placement

On Wing

Memorable

It's fun to sing along to, and the chorus is very different. I'd say definitely.

Lyrics

You're the only one who still cares Tu lu lu lu...
I think I've found what I'm looking for
And it shines

This is really pretty, but the rest of the lines aren't all that out of the ordinary.
