First thing that comes to mind is Puffy Ami Yumi. I am incredibly not used to Chieko doing this sort of song. But it's nice. I'm admittedly a fan of spastic Japanese songs, and this one's just fun to blare. Especially out a car window.

There's a trend in Chieko's lyrics, to the point that I wonder how much of her work is really very personal. But I like that. There's a connection there that not all singers accomplish.

OVERALL:

5 out of 5. This is the one everyone was looking forward to, so all I can say is thank God it lived up to the hype.

Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

TONE/MOOD:

This is one of the (rare) hyper songs that I like. God, this song is too much fun. XD You can tell that Chieko’s having a blast singing this song.

Yep! This is one of those songs that you can’t help but sing along to whenever it comes on.

LYRICS:

The lyrics really don’t make any sense, which is to me the only downside of the song, although I suppose a song like this doesn’t really need meaningful lyrics XD

Sailor Saturn - Miri-chan

Tone/Mood

Hmm... sugar high style, I'm guessing. Very upbeat and fun. Everything was awesome except for the opening. Chieco shouldn't have purposely tried to make her voice high and squeaky. Sounds like something that would work as the opening song for a children's cartoon

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone/Mood

Fast and upbeat and pop galore folks! Chieco is back with this oh so cute pop song 'Candy Baby'. I don't have to stress how adicting this song really is. For 99% of those who've heard this song have fallen "in love" with it. Well I have anyway. I hear this song and my spirits lift. Need that especailly on bad days. o_0 Anywho, 'Candy Baby' is fresh and lovable and done by Chieco. Nuff said.

Yep. Chieco fans unite with this pop song. WOOHOO! It gets stuck in your head and you repeat the following: "Candy Candy Baby Candy Candy Baby" for the whole day. If you don't, well something is wrong with you. :P

I like the entire set of lyrics but I had to choose only one part of it. The above, to me, says that she's very happy having this guy hold her so tightly and doesn't want him to let go. Heh....she got herself a pimp daddy....I mean candy baby. ^_^

5 out of 5 "Baby"! I think this is the best pop song Chieco has done thus far and I can only guess future songs will surpass this. Pop songs work really well with Chieco and I hope to see more from her. And have 'em released here in America (and everywhere else for that matter.)

Wow this sounds like a Puffy Ami Yumi song! Its very happy and bouncy sounding!

Even though this sounds like a really cute song, I’m not all impressed with it. I don’t think ill remember it that well.

The lyrics in this song are kinda cute.

"I can't fix the mess made from all that 'girl power' stuff"

I thought that was funny. Reminded me of the Spice Girls. GIRL POWER! Remember?

I’ll give this song a three because I didn’t think this was one of Cheico’s better songs. It sounded like she was trying to be a little kid again. After hearing it more than once, it got a little annoying^^;;

Nephrite - Frosted_Rain

Tone/Mood

Too pop and too much rock mixed to this song (a bad combination here). Not my kind of tone. I think they mixed ska and pop tones of this one. This song can be a good ska version (song with lots of trumpets, rock, hyper and like).

PV (promotional video) of this song is out now for download as of this writing. Haven’t seen it but I hope it’s not like her Shine PV

Reminds me of Over Rainbow Tour. Hyper and annoying.

Tightly tightly happy happy because because softly softly... This song has lots of repeating words used. Kinda annoying to hear. Though the message is good, it’s not my type. Wish this song was Ska.

Overall Rating

3 out of 5 hearts. It’s definitely new from Chieko-san’s album and a lot of pop mixed with rock. Fast and (chaotic?) in my opinion.

Sailor V - Jessica

Tone/Mood

Hyper, much? After her ‘Brilliance’ album, I’ll admit I was expecting something a little more, I don’t know, ‘grown up’ than this. It’s a very cute song and its uplifting, but I guess I really don’t like it when she pitches her voice to sound younger when she’s capable of much better.

I don’t find it particularly memorable, aside from the fact that it was the only Kawabe Chieco song I’ve listened to that I’ve wanted to turn off almost instantly to start with, even though I like it now.

I love these lines. Probably because they can describe so many moments when edging toward, or starting, a relationship.

Mood:

Has a musical theater mood, like something out of Hair or Grease or some other show I have no interest in seeing. But you could dance to it well enough.

Placement:

There's a video. Chie-chan's in cute outfits throughout. Get it.

Memorable:

Yah. The happy fun dance beat will be remembered.

Lyrics:

Pretty much full-out, no-holds-barred slutty. "Memories of you and my future with you don't matter, all I want is to get near you" Yeah, babe, you know you like it.

Overall:

The lyrics push it over the top. I want to be her candy baby so she can lick me all night. Five.
