Princess Serenity - Elly

Tone/Mood

This song is pretty mellow with just the right amount of bounce to it. This is a good song to listen to when you're studying or trying to get through something boring and arduous. This song is a good song to sing along to when you're bored, too.

Placement

I haven't seen *every* episode of PGSM yet, so my only real reference to this song is from the Dear My Friend album. I can't comment too much on placement, but it worked well in the album.

Memorable

This song is very memorable to me. When I think about the soldiers finally getting together as friends, this song pops into mind. How appropriate that it's titled "Friend".

Lyrics

The lyrics are both beautiful and inspiring. My favorite lines are: "The merry-go-round keeps turning / The fleeting sepia feelings / Sealed up in a photo album / Come back to me". That reminds me of the scene with Mercury fainting as she's on the Merry-Go-Round, and Jupiter flipping out trying to help her. It also reminds me of the picture that Usagi keeps of herself with Mercury and Mars, for some odd reason.

Overall Rating

If Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is about anything, then it's about friendship. This song brings the real meaning behind the series out into the open. The fact that the song is sung by all of the lead actresses, and that the lyrics deal with the power and importance of friendship really ties everything together. Definately a good song.

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone/Mood

Slow song. I don't like this song. I don't know but I just didn't care for the song.

Placement

Used for the last episode while the credits ran I think it was a good choice as the girls were running towards each other with their hands about to touch. The song doesn't really fit anywhere else as the girls weren't all together until like Act 46 or something...Come on now! You make a song titled "Friend" you'd think they would of used it more.

Memorable

Not to me as I don't like it. I think it's too boring but some may think otherwise. The only "memorable" thing about this song is that it was used for the ending episode. Nothing else about this song intrigues me.

Lyrics

The lyrics were so so in my opinon. Some were nice in some spots and others were on the "eh...why?" spot. "Separate roads/Somewhere deep inside/We're connected/The magic words/Race across the night sky" See that sounds nice doesn't it. These lines are the only ones I like throughout the entire song. I didn't care for the rest of it.

Overall Rating

2 Hearts. The song isn't anywhere near my "listen to again" list and I can't see why it was made if it was only going to be used once in the series-well twice if you want to count the Live Event. Please, writers, directors, if you're going to make a song please use it more then once!

Sailor Saturn - Sat

Tone/Mood

This song has a wonderful opening, but for some reason reminds me of one of those "Kid Bop" albums that I see advertised on TV. It is catchy, I admit that, but you aren't going to see me in the car with my windows rolled down blaring this while going down the road. I know a lot of people like this song, but it doesn't sit with me as well because it just seems a bit TOO child like in sound.

Placement

I can't think of a better placement for this song as it ran at the very end of the final episode. It truly showed the name of the song in the scene that it was played and I really liked it, but I feel that this should have been used somewhere else in the series as well to show the growing friendship or the overwhelming friend loyalties in the series.

Memorable

I don't think that I will be putting this one in my iPod anytime soon as it just really isn't all that memorable to me outside of being in the final episode. It is rather bland and tends to blend into itself too much to be anymore then background noise for me.

Lyrics

The lyrics seem rather simplistic to me and child like at moments. This further emphasizes what I said earlier about this seeming like it is a "Kid Bop" album. Just rather immature to me.

Overall Rating

This song just doesn't strike me as something that I could listen to on a normal basis unless I was VERY bored and didn't have a subscription to iTunes. It didn't earn anything more then a mediocre rating with me.

Sailor Mercury - Topaz

Tone/Mood

Friend is an upbeat, happy song. A good sound for a group of friends.

Placement

It was put in the best place. At the very last act in the very last scene as the girls are brought together again. It just tied in very well.

Memorable

Not really. There is just nothing that to me makes it a song that will stick in my head. Its a nice song just not memorable.

Lyrics

The lyrics are OK. I can't say they don't tie but I also can't say they really fit the show 100%

Overall Rating

I would only give this song a 1. As you can tell from my review I am not thrilled with this song. This is one of my least favorite song.

Kuroki Mio - Justin

Tone/ Mood

This is a pretty happy song, but makes me sad. It so suits PGSM and especially in Act 49 if you have seen it when Usagi and the girls all meet again! Great idea!

Placement

Another song that owns PGSM. This is again, one of the more popular PGSM songs and will be remembered forever in SM history. ^^

Memorable

I heart this song!!! Wait.. does that count?

Lyrics

The lyrics are talking about a best friend which makes me really happy and just the sound of the song can get you on the dance floor!

Overall Rating

5/5! This is one of my favourite PGSM songs!! Buy Dear My Friend!

Sailor Mars - Teresa

Tone/Mood

Great happy mood to it. It really makes you get up and sing. I love this song and so does my friend.

Placement

Now I haven't seen every act of " Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, " but, I've heard that this song was featured in the last act of " Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. " I haven't seen it, so, I've only heard it on the computer, but, I think that this song fits Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako perfectly.

Memorable

I don't know why it would be memorable except that all five Sailor Senshi sing this song. Maybe because it was the last song ever featured in " Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon? " I'm not sure...

Lyrics

I think the lyrics are really great. These lyrics really show the " friendship power " in these five girls.

Overall Rating

Another 5/5! This is another one of my favorite songs. This is on my list alright.

Sailor Venus - Tobias

Tone/Mood

Now here is a song I love hearing. It is happy go lucky and fits, plus its nice to hear since all the Senshi seiyuu are singing it. They sound good singing it together. My feelings when I hear this song are Happiness, general euphoria. I listen to this song with my mix albums and my Mp3 player. It has a good feel to it, not too hyper or anything, just a nice cheerful "Friend"ly song.

Placement

Much like Kirai*Sailor Dream, this song only works for one purpose... it is a perfect ending song... since in the "Final" act, the Senshi finally get together after all that has happened while the credits roll. I honestly don't know if it would fit anywhere else... save for a seperate story aka Kirari Super Live.

Memorable

This song is memorable enough as an ending song... It is very nice to listen to... However I can't listen to it alone... I need to have other songs accompany it working up to the song... since it doesn't have a lot of get up and go...

Lyrics

This songs usage of English sounds ok... it seems a bit odd (well with the background and the ending part) Like where they end the song with "I'm Proud of You" and "Feel my heart" sound odd to me... However it fits the general theme between the senshi... I personally enjoy this part: "meguriau kiseki to (miracle power) Kakegae no nai toki wo (special time forever) Zenbu taisetsu ni shite Ikite yukeru" So yes these lyrics work.

Overall Rating

4 out of 5. This song is a nice song to hear and isn't to hard to bare... unlike "Over Rainbow Tour"... this song (for me anyway) is able to be listened to over and over, while not grating on your nerves. Despite this fact, it still seems to be lacking something...

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan

Tone/Mood

Man, when I first heard this song, i fell in love with it. You gotta love this upbeat song!! When i heard it pop on in the last Act of the series, my tears came out even more and I smiled!(yeah I know, I'm a huge sap) It gives such an edge to the senshi and really lets them shine!

Placement

Having it play at the end of the series was such a great choice! Having the series close out with the senshi singing about their friendship was just genious. It felt so magical in a sense, seeing their hands reach at each other and hearing this song(I dont wanna give too much ending away, in case you haven't seen it yet! ^^;). This song was perfect for it!

Memorable

This song i think will be somewhat rememberable. If you have seen the end of the show, then I think you will remember it a little. It isn't the most remarkable song of the bunch, but it has memerable words and beats to it that you know will keep in your head for a little while at least!

Lyrics

The words in this song hold so much meaning. I know this snipit of lyrics is long, but bear with me!^^

The miracle of our meeting and (miracle power) That irreplaceable time (special time forever) I treasure them all I can go on with life Thousands of emotions (thousand words) Vanish into the night sky (twinkle star forever) I want to complete the things We can only do now I wanna be with you. My best friend For myself We only get one life Go my way I want to have adventures, too Doing it over again With meetings and partings The nights of solitude end Inside the gentle winds Your smiling face is always the same Radiant Even if we start to walk down (winding road) Separate roads (special time forever) Somewhere deep inside We're connected The magic words (miracle words) Race across the night sky (twinkle star forever) I want to send a fantasy Shining from the stars I wanna get back here. My best friend. This is the pinicle of the song. Of the series. The best points are sung in those words. Hearing those words and the emotion they are said in makes you know that Usagi and her friends will stay friends forever, no matter what. It has great meaning!!

Overall Rating

Hmm...I would give this song a 4 because of it's upbeat happiness and great lyrics. You know pace when you here this song. It gives a warm feeling in your heart when you hear all the senshi's voices sing out from their hearts. I like this song a lot XD.

Jessica - Sailor V

Tone/Mood

Its not too perky, its not too happy and it doesn't make you wonder how the group kept up such a hyper tone for so long. However, it seems to have a sincerity to the tone, and a mood of fond remembrance. Its happy, but not gleeful, and that's one of the things I love about this song.

Placement

Only heard once in PGSM, if I remember correctly, as the ending to the Final Act. I wouldn't have dared to place it anywhere else. There just wasn't anywhere where all the girls were together as friends, or just as a functioning on the same level, to warrant having it as background music. However, where it was used, when they've finally all realised what they mean to each other, are finally open and honest and just so pleased to see each other, I think it was perfectly used. If it had been used anywhere else beforehand I think it, and the ending, would have lost a lot of impact.

Memorable

I'll remember this as a song by friends, for friends, and it will always remind me of the ending of PGSM when they're finally together. All in all, I think the song is memorable as a song for the Senshi group as a whole, and one to maybe reminisce about PGSM to, when its all over.

Lyrics

Okay, so they're rather sappy and overly cute, but somehow I can make an exception for this song. For some reason I always think of Minako being proud of Usagi for (eventually) changing the planet's destiny, when I hear, "I'm proud of you," even if she did make many mistakes along the way. The lyrics of the song seem to say everything the girls never actually said aloud to each other, that perhaps they should have, "Feel my heart, please, please, please "

Overall Rating

5/5. I just love this song. Can't really explain it I just do!

Watters Keith - Sailor Jupiter

Tone/Mood

This song is good. Not as hyper as some of the others. It's kind of in the middle. Something that's easy-listening. Kind of something I could read a book to.

Placement

It worked really well at the end of the final episode. When they were all re-united once again.

Memorable

It's memorable in a way. Like, a friendship song. Not one that I would remember the lyrics, but one I would remember the smooth beat and the feeling in it.

Lyrics

The lyrics are about being friends and what it is to be there for each other. They describe feelings between true best friends, in my opinion.

Overall Rating

A 5/5! I love songs that talk about friendship and the importance of it. This one gives me a great feeling. I just love it.

Ciao - Sailor Pluto

Tone/Mood

Having all the girls sing really makes the song what it is. I loved it the first time I heard it when Ruth offered it on her website after it first came out, and even tho I didn't get to listen to it again until now (as I write this review) I still love the song. It has such a positive vibe, you can tell all the actresses are good friends and their English has improved a lot *grins* It's no longer Ingrish, and that helps a lot. It's energetic, danceable and sweet, all at the same time.

Placement

As far as I know it hasn't been featured in the show at all, tho it could very well have been, with the message of friendship.

Memorable

Oh definitely a memorable song, the ending line of 'my best friend' resonated with me even tho I've not heard it for so long. It's a song I could listen to for days and not be tired of it. It's got one of the best messages around, that of friendship no matter what and it's something that I try to live every day so that makes it much more memorable. I'd sing this to all my friends, if given half a chance *chuckles* Dedicating it here to all my friends is gonna have to do, so here's to you! *salutes* ~My Best Friends~

Lyrics

I think the lyrics are very good and fit well within the music, as well as being a good overall song for the series itself with it's message of enduring friendship. It also serves as a sweet parting song to leave the end of the current (and so far only) series with:

Yuujou tte mono ni
Terete waratte ita
Arigato kimi ga kureta
Subarashii dream

I was smiling, shy of
This thing called friendship
Thanks for giving me
A wonderful dream

Overall Rating

I'd give this song definitely 5 stars because of the lyrics, the music, the overall message and the friendship that shows quite clearly to me of the girls singing it. There could have been more made of the girls' voices (the ones that can sing, that is) and perhaps a bit more harmony added, but it's a great song nonetheless. I'm gonna be stuck singing this all weekend now *grins*

Sebi - Jedite

Tone/Mood

A very La La kind of Happy. It also has that "lets go have fun" feeling to it. The emotions it evokes are perfect as the finale song for this series. It really gives a satisfying feeling of closure as it winds down ends.

Placement

It fits very well as the series finale song, the tone and mood are perfect. It definitly feels like a satisfying closure song for a series such as this.

Memorable

Very memorable, it isn't the addicting kind where you can't get the song out of your head even when you want to, but it still manages to stay with you after hearing it for the first time. Depending on your preference it may lose some luster upon repeated hearings.

Lyrics:

The lyrics here make great sense, not entirely coherent, but not so unintelligible that you have no idea what the hell meaning is trying to be delivered. They fit well and add well to the song itself. Nothing else to be said

Overall Rating

Kara - Kuroki Mio

TONE/MOOD:

Happy, and not annoyingly perky. It covers a nice range of emotion (from Usagi's quick solo all the way up to the chorus in general), and the combined voices of the girls have a very nice sound to them.

PLACEMENT:

The 'Dear My Friend' CD, and the end of Final Act.

MEMORABLE:

Quite.

LYRICS:

This song had a lot to live up to. When you're the last song of the show, and have to sum up everything in a few minutes of singing, you've got your work cut out for you. This manages to do it.

For myself
We only get one life
Go my way
I want to have adventures, too
Doing it over again
With meetings and partings

This means something different for everyone singing it, and even though they're in unison, the variation of meanings is as wide as the variation of experiences the girls have had. Nonetheless, it all combines into one. And this song conveys that perfectly.

OVERALL:

5 out of 5. One of my favourite songs featured in the show.
