Hello

Sailor V - Jessica

Tone/Mood

The mood is happy and just enough so as not to become a sickeningly hyper track. Something about the opening was very familiar, I think it's the scale undertones. I think she sounds younger in this song at some points than in others, but it makes a nice contrast.

Placement

None in PGSM

Memorable

I'll only remember this because it reminds me of another track for some reason.

Lyrics

I was frozen by the goodbye coming from your lips
I will overcome this pride

I'm jealous of the irresponsible way you let the tears fall

I love these lines. Wanting to have emotional abandon and not being able to just drop your guard and get on with it. Its so true.

Overall Rating

Dark Sailor Mercury - Ilse

Tone/Mood

It starts very cheerful, and very relaxed. It's a nice song! I often listen to it! The refrain is very different from the couplets. You would expect something else. Why didn't they did that? Whatever ^_^;;

Placement

On one of her singles

Memorable

Not really, it's just like some of her other songs. Not really special to me.

Lyrics:

From the day I met you in the cold rain
I've wanted to fall into the sky

Shopping no longer does anything, nothing I eat tastes good
I want to take off my western clothes and make a new beginning

Hello Hello I also raise my hand
Hello Hello I will reach a day in the future when I can smile again
Hello Hello I'll see my spirit again
Hello Hello I will remember this sadness without changing it

The hello thing is the first meeting, I guess. The couplets are a bit exaggerated, if you get what I mean

Overall rating:

The song is good, only the lyrics are too exaggerated so 4 hearts! Good song!

Tuxedo Mask - Kero-chan

Tone/Mood:

This song is more commercial than 'Break Through' and you'll remember the chorus easily and it will stay inside your head for several hours XD. In spite of this, I like the background music and the instruments they are used in it. I don't know if it is just me but I think that in some parts of the song she is forcing her voice to get higher notes, and I don't get it, she can make higher tones. What went wrong in here?

Placement:

You can fin this song in her 'Hello' single.

Memorable:

Yes, because the chorus is very catchy. Her voice sounds good in this song, just a bit forced, as I mentioned before.

Lyrics:

This song is showing us the effects that a failed relationship has on Moeco; she is singing to us how she felt when he met the guy, and how does everything seems so gray now that he's not here anymore. Also, she shows some emotion in here, she is angry with the guy she was in love because *I think* he didn't care about their rupture. My favorite part: I'm jealous of the irresponsible way you let the tears fall The sun brushes away the dense clouds and shine on me

Overall Rating:

It is ironic how a nice melody and a happy word such as 'hello' can be used in a song where you talk about a failed relation and how you feel about it. I give the song 5 stars. I like it, the fact that her voice sounds a bit forced is beset by the other good stuff of the song XD.

Sailor Saturn - Miri-chan

Tone/Mood

Very easygoing and slow at first. I don't really like how the rhythm suddenly changes between the intro and when she sings. The repetition of "Hello" in the chorus is a bit... childish to me. Other than that, this is an all-around cute song that can be played at any time.

Placement

Moeco's single Hello

Memorable

The chorus is pretty memorable, considering that was the only thing I remembered after listening to it. The "Hello, hello" parts are pretty catchy, childish thoughtthey are.

Lyrics

Hello Hello can you hear me?

That cracked me up XD The lyrics are pretty simple and easily understandable. It makes the song seem sort of innocent and naïve, in a way.

Overall Rating

4 out of 5 hearts. It's pretty cute, and has a nice melody and lyrics. Still doesn't have that special something to boost it up to a 5, though.

Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

Tone/Mood:

This one sounds a little more light and hopeful. It’s fun to sing along to =)

Placement:

Matsushita Moeko’s Hello single.

Memorable:

Eh, not really. As fun as the melody is, it’s not unique enough to stand out.

Lyrics:

The lyrics are interesting-at the same time they contrast and fit with the actual music. It’s about a breakup, but she’s going to move on and make a new beginning without this guy, as is demonstrated by the following-

Hello Hello I also raise my hand
Hello Hello I will reach a day in the future when I can smile again
Hello Hello I'll see my spirit again
Hello Hello I will remember this sadness without changing it

Rating:

Good song, but it’s missing something that would give it a higher rating. What that something is, I have no clue. ^_^;

Kuroki Mio - Kara

TONE/MOOD:

Intersting chord-work here. It's got a feel something like 'Little Wing' when it comes to the modulations. It's upbeat, but with something of a melancholoy lilt to it.

PLACEMENT:

N/A

MEMBORABLE:

I'd say so. The guitar and interesting chords make it stick out in my mind.

LYRICS:

The lyrics really aren't the memorable part of this song. Reading the English translation didn't change my opinion of the song for better or for worse. They're more like supplemental material for a song that works well to begin with.

OVERALL:

4 out of 5 hearts. There's some lovely heart-wrenching turns to this song that make it great to listen to.

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan

Tone/Mood

This song sounds a little punkish but still pop. I like the sound of it, and the happy mood to the song.

Placement

Memorible

It's more emmorible than other songs, and I think I'll learn to remember this song the more i listen to it.

Lyrics

I find the lyrics a little funny in this song. For instance:

I want to take off my western clothes and make a new beginning

Isn't she Japanese and in Japan? I didn't know she would wear more western clothes than Japanese clothing. That make me giggle a little. Plus her constant saying hello, that was a little humorous.

Overall rating

I will give this song a 4 because it made me chuckle and I do like the sound of it.

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone/Mood

Hmm...it's smack dab in the middle of ballad and pop. I'm not sure what to call it. I don't hear any "happiness" in her voice but more of a love-sick girl. 0_o See it's confusing. Ah well it's still nice to listen to.

Placement

Memorable

No.

Lyrics

"I was frozen by the goodbye coming from your lips
I will overcome this pride

I'm jealous of the irresponsible way you let the tears fall
The sun brushes away the dense clouds and shine on me"

How sad! I'm taken aback by the whole "frozen" bit. She gets dumped but I'm confused with something. Is she crying and she's mad at him, or is he crying for breaking up the relationship? Gah! Lovely lyrics all the way round though.

Overall Rating

3 out of five. Better then the other two I've reviewed but it is confusing to me and it still doesn't move me in a way this song should (after reading the lyrics over and over). Poo!

Princess Serenity - Elly

Tone/Mood

Very "Japanese" again. You can just tell this is going to be another Japanese love ballad as soon as the song begins.

Placement

"Hello" by Matsushita Moeko

Memorable

Tee hee, yes. Me and Molly have a little parody of this song that we sings. It goes something like this:

Herro, Herro!
I'm Matsushita Moeko
Herro, Herro
I sound so Japanese and cute but I don't know
Why anyone listens to my songs

Super mean, but if you sing it out loud it kind of rhymes, LOL. Me and Molly just love teasing Matsushita about her Engrish. So amusing =) So I'll always remember this song, but I'm not sure that anyone else will.

Lyrics

I was frozen by the goodbye coming from your lips
I will overcome this pride

Anyone who has ever gotten in a tiff with their loved one knows what this is like.

Overall Rating

For humor purposes, this song gets a four instead of a three. I love singing along to this song with Molly, inserting our own lyrics here and there =)

Nephrite - Frosted_rain

Tone/Mood

Hello! Guitar solo is good and some orchestra sounds on the background. The song is about the beginning of a new hope and happiness (of course, you should greet them with “hello”). A bit humorous too with all those hello’s during the song.

Placement

Hello! It’s found in one of her singles.

Memorable

Hello! Listening to the song again and again reminds me of none other than… Hello Kitty! LOLZ!

Lyrics

Hello Hello I wonder if you can hear me
Hello Hello I will smile again someday
Hello Hello Is there a grand lover
Hello Hello I wonder if I'll overcome myself
Hello Hello can you hear me?
Hello Hello I will smile again someday
Hello Hello Is there a grand lover
Hello Hello I wonder if I'll overcome myself

Hello! Hello? Oh, lots of “hello”… this part has full of hello… I mean full of hope (my bad… ^^). Hope for a new love, hope for a new happiness and full of “hello”.

Overall Rating

Hello! 3 out of 5 hearts for lots of “hello”. It’s better than saying goodbye anyway. Also humorous. HELLO MINNA!

Sailor Pluto - Sailorasteroid

Mood:

In this one Moeco helps a young blind girl in her acting class. . . oh, sorry, wrong “Hello.” No, really, this is kind of an early New Wave song. A bit slower in the choruses, and that’s a good thing.

Placement:

Backwards masked on the Beatles’ White Album. No, really, go check it! Make sure your record player has the disgronificator attached first, though.

Memorable:

Yes, it is. The titular (*snicker*) Hello provides the needed hook, plus the lines after are sweet.

Lyrics:

Once again we see that no particular line need connect with any other line in the song.

Overall:

I won’t say good-bye to Hello. Four.
