Here We Go!

Princess Serenity - Elly

Tone/Mood

I LOVE this song! So cheerful, so happy, and so energetic! It's very hyper, but nothing at all like Over Rainbow Tour. This song puts me in a good mood when I'm tired and I need a little bit of cheering up just to finish my school work for the day. This song also reminds me of the times when Usagi was down but pretended to be happy for the others for some odd reason. Hmm. Go figure.

Placement

This should have been the ultimate character song for Tsukino Usagi, but for some reason Over the Rainbow Tour is considered to be more of a cover song for her than this is. The only times I've heard this song was during Dance Lesson video and on the Character Single, so as far as that's concerned I think it has good placement. I thought that Usagi trying to teach us how to dance to this song was rather adorable.

Memorable

This song is semi-memorable. If you're a die hard fan, you're going to automatically know it's Usagi, but if you're not you may not know who's singing. It doesn't directly come to mind when I think of PGSM.

Lyrics

The lyrics for this song are very cute. I'm not really sure why Tsukino Usagi would be singing about getting together with the same person for the second time, since she only gets with Chiba Mamoru once during the series, but I digress. My favorite lyrics are: "You turned your back on me that day / No need for an apology / Let's start from here". I feel that those lyrics truly show the forgiving and care-free nature of Tsukino Usagi. Although the lyrics don't make much sense in the context of the series, I still like the lyrics a lot.

Overall Rating

I felt that three stars was appropriate for this song. This song doesn't have a lot of lasting power, and after you listen to it a few times you're sick of it and just want it to go away. It generally sits at the end of my playlist and collects dust. The song is very cheerful and happy, but there's only so much of it one can take.

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone/Mood

Hyper song! But in a good way! This is Usagi's second character song and I think this song fits her better then "Over Rainbow Tour". Not only does she sing this song much better but it fits in the series. Yay to the writers for this one. I just love hearing "I love you!" A song worth hearing again and again.

Placement

This song fits with Usagi's character. It's happy, energetic and upbeat just like Usagi. The song wasn't used in the show itself-I don't think-but I really wish it was. I think it would of been a better song when Usagi was riding on Mamoru's bike but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Oh well.

Memorable

Much more memorable then "Over Rainbow Tour" but unless you've watched the Dance Lesson or the Special Event...or bought the CD...I don't think new fans will know the song.

Lyrics

Great lyrics for this song and again they make sense. My favorite lines are "Even searching all the world I can't bump into you / Though there are people who look similar / None of them are you" Now how romatic is that?! I think that truely shows how Usagi feels for Mamoru and vice versa.

Overall Rating

Can I give it 3 1/2 hearts? Not the best song in the world but it's definately much better then others *cough* Over Rainbow Tour *cough* but I do think the writers could of done better with Sawaii.

Sailor Saturn - Sat

Tone/Mood

I find this song incredably catchy and have repeatedly looped this song to listen to it over and over. I can't think of a better song to encompass a character such as Usagi. I won't ever admit that I have (and continue to) done the dances that we learned in the Super Dance Lesson, but I will say that this song is about the most energetic song that I can think of that doesn't grate on my utmost LAST nerve. I can listen to it over and over and have hooked quite a few others on it as well. It is just THAT good. Wonderful song. Absolutely wonderful!

Placement

You know, when I think about it, I don't remember this song being in the series at all. I never saw it used until the Super Dance Lesson and the Kirari Super Live Event. Either way, it still keeps its place in my heart as the ultimate Usagi song.

Memorable

More like stuck in your head relentlessly! I think that when somebody thinks of Usagi as a character, they could easily think of this song. I know that I do whenever this song comes on. Though I also think of pink vinyl and lots of jumping like a rabbit.

Lyrics

Some of the lyrics in this song are quirky, but that is the trend among music in this series. Some of the lyrics don't make sense toward the character, but she sings them with such emotion and happiness that you honestly think that she means it. Wondrous job.

Overall Rating

I feel that this song really emcompasses Usagi's character and shows that the series has driving it all. Happiness and the ability to just get up the next day and say "Here We Go!"

Sailor Mercury - Topaz

Tone/Mood

Sugar. That what this song sounds like. SUPER happy and danceable. The mood of Here We Go! is we can overcome anything if we try!

Placement

Not a single place! how could they have not used this song. It has Usagi written all over it. It was not until the Dance dvd and Stage show did we get to hear it. OK if I ever find out who gets to pick the songs in the show I am gonna beat them with a giant pocky stick! WHACK!

Memorable

This is super memorable! Its just so happy and good sounding! I love to dance with this song!:goes to practice the dance:: Its even cute when Luna daces with this song. And the move thing Usagi and Makoto do. SO CUTE!

Lyrics

With a new you and me
We'll do better than before
The strength to believe in today
Is changing me
Here we go!

These words just are Usagi. We'll do better then before. To mean this is the whole story line. Trying to not let the past happen again. Doing all she can to keep what she wants and loves but also do what is right.
The strength to believe in today
Let's use to change our destiny

I love these words, so powerful!

Overall Rating

::Stands up and shows what she wrote on her white poster board:: 4! Why not a 5? Well, it is a wonderful song it fits Usagi well but its just not my favorite.

Kuroki Mio - Justin

Tone/ Mood

I love this song. It's amazingly sung by Miyuu Sawai and I give her props for doing it great! If you have seen Kirari Super Live, you will see how it amazing it is when she sings with with Mew Azama (Jupiter)!

Placement

Usagi OWNS this song! It really fits her and especially the mood of the song. I say she OWNS it and it really fits her! WOOT!

Memorable

I really good song! Buy Dear My Friend! Must Listen song!

Lyrics

The lyrics can really make you happy!!

Overall Rating

5/5! This is one of my favourite PGSM songs!! You seriously must buy one of the CDs with this on it! BEST PGSM SONG EVER AWARD?

Sailor Mars - Teresa

Tone/Mood

I think that this song has a very popish " cyber like " mood to it. I like it.

Placement

I think this is a perfect song for Usagi to sing because of the tune. I think it fits her voice because she really can't sing.

Memorable

I really don't think that there's anything memorable about this song...

Lyrics

I think the lyrics are alright. Not great, but, okay..

Overall Rating

4/5 I took one away, because, I don't like Sawai Myuu's voice that much.

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan

Tone/Mood

I love the happy tone of this song. It really makes you want to stand up and dance(and if you've seen the dance video or the live event, you can do that dance to it! I can!) It's a great song and you can really feel Usagi's hope in this song. I heard this song for the first time from the Dear My Friend CD, and loved it ever since!

Placement

The one time I remember it being in the show was in episode 36, when usagi and Mamoru go on their little date, before he buys her the watch. It was very fitting in that section, because it IS a song about her and Mamoru being together and being happy. It was a good choice!

Memorable

Thought this isn't the first song I think of when I hear or think about PGSM, I really think for Usagi fans, it will hold a memory. It was a great song for her and fit her bubbly personality, which will definatly make me remember the song if I think of Usagi.

Lyrics

I'd have to say that the lyrics were very fitting to the music. It had a hopeful feel and confidence in the melody, and certain phrases like:
Here we go! With a new you and me / We'll do better than before / The strength to believe in today / Let's use to change our destiny
and
No need for an apology / Let's start from here / I love you
Gives the listener good vibes about the feelings expressed in the song. It make syou feel how hopeful Usagi is about her love for Mamoru and how they can triumph in their modern-day relationship.

Overall Rating

Personally, I would give this song a 4 all the way. It's a wonderful song for Usagi and it gives great emotions to the listener and make syou feel good when you hear it! I love this song because of it and will always enjoy listening to it! And dancing to it, of course.

Sailor Venus - Tobias

Tone/Mood

Sawai-san's other song... "Here We Go". This one is happy and cheerful... way more of a song to be an image song... I enjoy this song more even if it is a bit hyper, However it seems more fitting of Usagi than that "other" song. I can listen to this song and not get too annoyed with it. I can't recall any part during the fourty nine acts of Sailormoon where this song was heard in a big part... but I recall hearing it faintly in the background in Crown Karaoke... it was somewhere during the time when "Nephkichi" made his appearance. This song is enjoyable, it cheers me up and is a good song to work to.

Placement

This song I think could have fit in the show had it been used for such, rather than a short background noise... it is a song worthy of more...

Memorable

This song to me is more memorable than Sawai-san's other song "Over Rainbow Tour". As a song this one is much easier to listen to and doesn't seem to stretch as hard on Sawai-san's vocals... To me, this song is more of an image song for Usagi. This song is contained on several of my Mix albums and is on my Mp3 player. It is generally a nice song to listen to.

Lyrics

Lyrically this song is ok. Its usage of English is better than some other songs... plus the lyrics fit the dynamic range of the song, so it can be played to the listener and basically act as a "Genki Up!" song.

Overall Rating

I'd give this song a 4 out 5. This song is fitting for Usagi... I can truly say had she not been singing C'est la vie so much she may have been tempted to do this song... C'est la vie and Here We Go both are energy driven songs, so I believe both would work... just on slightly different levels.

Frosted_Rain - Nephrite

Tone/Mood

After my friend freaked out on what Over Rainbow Tour sounds like (please check my review of this song) I let him listen to this song. "It is far WAY BETTER than Over Rainbow Tour.", he said. Its more upbeat, relaxing and a kind of song that one won't regret if it's stuck on one's head.

Placement

Too bad this song wasn't included on the series (I don't know where they placed this song in the series so help me out). I can't think of a better way where this song would be placed on the PGSM series. But, if another Sailor Moon Anime would be made (suggested plot: Sailor Galaxia, et.al.), this song would be wonderful for an opening intro.

Memorable

As I'm writing a review for this song, I'm playing it on REPEAT. It's a very enjoyable song. Reminds me of watching an anime (forgot the name) with the same mood and style for this song. Makes me wonder of one of the guys will actually sing this song during shower time. Also, I like a Japanese woman sing this song for me as a serenade. That will make me turn upside down. Ahh kawaii desu ne..

Lyrics

This song is far way better than Over Rainbow Tour. The chorus is easily memorized (my friend said it).

Overall Rating

Another 5 for a wonderful OST in PGSM. This allows Sawaii Miyuu and Co. to be redeemed for a VERY BAD review on Over Rainbow Tour.

Jessica - Sailor V

Tone/Mood

Its high, happy and perky, but has a I don't know tentative quality to the verses, before the build up to the chorus', that sounds as if being so happy is an effort, maybe it's a shy first performance, before the chorus' is reached, when the song really takes off and becomes a real mood lifter.

Placement

I'd have loved to have seen Usagi-chan sing this in the show, if only as a random karaoke song, or just have had it play during a scene in which she wasn't giving up on her dreams. The song just seems to fit her outlook on life so well, as a Senshi and in relation to her wish to be with Mamoru.

Memorable

I was going round for days with this stuck in my head, often just the words, "Here we go! Atarashii," and not the rest of the line! Other than that, its just such an, 'Usagi' song. I love the duet performance from the live show and often listen to that more than the original, but both 'versions' are memorable, for the catchy lyrics and, to me, the actual fun Sawai Miyuu and Azama Myuu seem to be having performing, "Here We Go!"

Lyrics

"With a new you and me, we'll do better than before .The strength to believe in today, let's use to change our destiny." Those lyrics just fit Usagi and Mamoru perfectly. They're reborn, they're not exactly their old selves, they're not going to let anything stop them and they're determined not to let the tragic past repeat itself. The lyrics actually make sense in translation and they just describe their relationship so well.

Overall Rating

4/5. Minus one because Sawai Miyuu sounds as if she's desperately trying to keep in the 'Usagi' character whilst she sings, and it affects her voice; you can't tell if this is Miyuu's voice or 'Usagi's'.

Watters Keith - Sailor Jupiter

Tone/Mood

This song is so sweet and happy!! It's a song I would listen to if I needed to do some walking or jogging. I love to listen to this. I even make my little brother listen to it and HE loves it!

Placement

This song reminds me of Usagi every time I listen to it. Although I cannot remember it in the series, I think it should have been in there! It's Usagi's song all the way!

Memorable

I am listening to this song now for almost the 15th time today. I could sing it by now! It's very memorable and I love it. It will forever remind me of Usagi!

Lyrics

The lyrics were great in my opinion. They went well with the beat of the song and such.

Even searching all the world
I can't bump into you
Though there are people who look similar
None of them are you

I love those lines! They are just so very right.

Overall Rating

A 5/5. I love the lyrics. I love the beat. It reminds me of Usagi. What more could I ask for?

Ciao - Sailor Pluto

Tone/Mood

I love this song a lot. It's upbeat, peppy without being overly in your face, and full of such a good feeling, and message, even if you don't speak Japanese *smiles* It just comes thru in the enthusiastic singing of Sawaii-san. What she lacks in the voice department, she makes up in energy and enthusiasm. It makes me wanna get up and dance to it, as they do in the dance special. I'm more partial to dance music as well *smiles* and this would be an excellent single, if it were released as such.

Placement

It didn't really enthuse me much when it was played in the context of the Act it was in, but the dance special really brought it out to me that it was so energetic and happy, you couldn't really be annoyed for long :) I don't know that it's become a character single for her but it is a song that her voice makes it instantly identifiable.

Memorable

When I hear this song, it instantly makes me think of that dance special and the enthusiasm and fun the girls had, presenting the dance for the song. It really made me wanna get up and start dancing (in fact, I did try, much to the amusement of my son, who, when I started singing it, promptly told me to shut up *laughs*). Listening to it as I'm doing the review, I'm sort of bopping in place and remembering watching the special. It doesn't really bring the episode in which it was shown to mind, but that's oke, I like the song just the same.

Lyrics

The lyrics do suit the energy of the music, altho I hate to say it, Sawaii-san can't sing. Despite this, she does her best and it shows. The lyrics fit quite well into the theme of the show as a whole tho, rather than a particular episode, in that it tells about the love-feeling between the main characters. They sort of fell in love reluctantly at first, then embraced their destinies and won thru in the end. A lesson to us all :)

Overall Rating

To be fair, I loved this song, but as I mentioned, Sawaii-san can't sing for trying. None of her other character songs really improve on it much. There is a lot of energy and good feeling in this song that makes up for the lack in talent and the message is clear, no matter what your mother language - I LOVE YOU....what better message could there be? I'd give this song 3.5 stars, but since we can only give single stars, rather than halves, I'm rounding it up to 4 stars *grins*

Sebi - Jedite

Tone/Mood:

Very Happy and Optimistic, just the right balance. It gets highly perky here and there, but not so much that's its almost unbearble. Highly soothing and pleasant as it goes forward. This song is solidly enjoyable all around. Great for clearing you'r head if you'r feelin stressed.

Placement:

It's not in the series proper, but it would go well with just about any scene showing Usagi and Chiba as a couple.

Memorable:

Highly, it isn't as all-encomapssingly addicting as are Kirari and C'est La Vie but even so this song is something your not likely to forget very soon, it's a matter of prefrence whether or not this song stays favorable after repeated hearings though.

Lyrics:

At last, lyrics whos meaning I can actually follow! With a subtle flair, they add greatly to the songs pleasant and overall soothing tone. What else can I say, they just fit really really well and make sense while their at it.

Overall Rating

Kara - Kuroki Mio

TONE/MOOD:

Upbeat again - because Usagi can generally ONLY be upbeat - but now it seems a lot more warranted. It's not a perky upbeat, but rather a hopeful and inspired one. Makes you want to punch your fist in the air and go 'Yeah!'

PLACEMENT:

Tsukino Usagi's character single; it was also the opening for Special Act.

MEMORABLE:

Yes, much more so than 'Over Rainbow Tour.'

LYRICS:

Very fitting, much more applicable to the character of Usagi. It touches on plot points fairly obviously, but I don't mind that at all. Miyuu puts a lot of power behind this song, and pulls as much meaning from the lyrics as she can.

OVERALL:

4 out of 5. Miyuu has a good voice, with a bit more maturing to do, but it far outstrips her other song.

Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

Tone/Mood:

Woah bouncy and happy. Not in the same vein as Over the Rainbow Tour, though, this one is MUCH more pleasant to listen to. Considering that Miyuu has, I’m sorry to say, an awful singing voice, I think they picked some nice background music to make up for that.

Placement:

Usagi’s single, and it was used in the Special Act. If it was used elsewhere, I’m not aware of it. Although I think that this song could have been used in the scenes they stuck Over the Rainbow Tour in, with much better results.

Memorable:

Eh, typical Usagi-bouncy-happy song, nothing all that special. Still fun!

Lyrics:

Here we go!
With a brand new you and me
We’ll be better than before
The strength to believe in today
Let’s use to change our destiny

These lyrics are very Usagi.

Rating:

Much better than Miyuu’s other song, and a fun song to sing along to.
