Kaze Michi no Ato - After the way of the wind

Queen Beryl - Molly

Tone/Mood

I love the lively, yet sad mood of this song. I wish there were more too it, but sadly, all we got was a sample. It is a great song to bop along too.

Memorable

I don't it would be memorable, if I hadn't have taken a liking to the lyrics as much as I have.

Lyrics

I love the poeticness of the lyrics. One of my favourite verses being:

In front of your eyes
This place is empty
This place is the ocean
I notice only after it's always true

Overall Rating

I give this song a 3.

Kuroki Mio - Kara

TONE/MOOD:

It starts out sounding almost angry, really. But after awhile, it builds into a much less aggressive sound, and actually balances out into something enthusiastic and listenable. I'd say most of the aggressiveness comes from the guitar. And here, Endo sounds like he's starting to get a better feel for his voice. Some of the words sound a bit slurred, but the emphasis and his range really show here.

PLACEMENT:

N/A

MEMBORABLE:

Not so much on the verse, but the chorus has a very distinctive sound.

LYRICS:

Story-songs are so popular in J-rock, aren't they? But in this one, I didn't so much get the feeling that I'd walked in on a conversation as I did that I wanted to know more. They're sad lyrics, but they're not allowing themselves to be sad (when placed against the music). It's an interesting contrast, making it sound almost pleading.

OVERALL:

3 out of 5 hearts. Quite good, but the verse didn't do much for me, and Endo needs to enunciate more.

Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

Tone/Mood:

Some awesome guitar intro. The first impression I got of this song was that it’d be fun to drive along to with your friends. A happier sounding song than most of his others. I like it :)

Placement:

Yoshito Endou’s Deep Under.

Lyrics:

That summer's dream wasn't an illusion

The lyrics are interesting. It sounds like he’s singing about a summer fling or something to that extent. The actual lyrics are really good, but they sound like the belong more in a ballad than in a rock song like this.

Rating:

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone/Mood

Sounds like a pop song more then a rock song. Maybe it's supposed to be that way? The singing is broken but it's alright for what it is. If this was an instramental, I'd like it a lot more. This song has a good beat but the singing portion killed it for me. *shrugs*

Placement

Not used in the show.

Memorable

Nope.

Lyrics

"That summer's sky was after the way of the wind
The memories inside aren't too much to handle
Every day you lost a thought, two tears fell"

Even in English these lyrics are lovely. Poetic. Simple. What more can a girl ask for? (Better singing but that's only my opinion). Perhaps the lyrics make sense to me because Endo knows English, therefore knows what to write. I don't know but I love the lyrics nonetheless.

Overall Rating

3/5! Lyrics and beat gave this a score of 3. If the singing was better perhaps this song would of gotten a 4. I just think Endo isn't the best singer in the world. ^^;

Tuxedo Mask - Kero-chan

Tone/Mood:

Nice opening with the electric guitar; his voice sounds so strange in his songs, it's so techno like. The tone is kind of neutral, it doesn't sound sad or happy, except for the beginning. The song's intro sounds like Blink 182 or those punk-rock bands of these days tehee

Placement:

Yoshito's band album.

Memorable:

I don't think the song itself can be memorable, I like more the lyrics and those are some lyrics to remember. As Molly said, they are very poetic and in some part of the song they radiate some kind of melancholy.

Lyrics:

My favorite parts:

That summer's sky was after the way of the wind
The memories inside aren't too much to handle
Every day you lost a thought, two tears fell
In front of your eyes
This place is empty
This place is the ocean
I notice only after it's always true

I was translating this song to Spanish when I realized its meaning. It is sad yet so romantic and filled with hope. And also the title I don't know I just love it, and more because of the part of "Every day you lost a thought, two tears fell". I don't know if it's only me but this song could have been an excellent track for the OST of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" XD.

Overall Rating:

I give the song 4 stars; I like the title and the lyrics, but I think that the music doesn't reflect the true feeling of the song.

Sailor Mars - De'Angelo

Tone/Mood

I like the tone when it first starts. It starts with a relaxing rhythm, then goes to a more active pose.

Memorable

Very catchy! It also reminds me of something else I've listened to and I don't know why... Ugh...I shouldn't say that all of these songs are catchy like that because EVERY song is catchy to me! ^_^'

Lyrics

Looking at the duration of the song (1:20), I expected the lyrics to be just as long as "Air", but I guess I was wrong. "Lost words 'are not a dream'" - I totally LOVE this line! It's so deep. It sort of gives you the idea of losing thoughts as well - dreams and thoughts are in your brain, right? Your thoughts can become your dreams at night - so can your lost words!

Overall Rating

I give this song a 5! The song's creative lines really gave its score a boost! I also love the tune and the beat - VERY catchy!

Dark Sailor Mercury - Ilse

Tone/Mood

Again, an Yoshito endo month. Right now, I think this song is a bit stressful. Not really to relax, no, not at all. His first songs I liked better then this. Good point : You can hear his voice trough the music! Bad point: It's boring I think after all those songs.

Not for me

Lyrics:

Lost words "are not a dream"

A little part-time job Don't bribe me or I'll get rid of you
Forget you ran away that day with so much pain
Always remember the lights of midsummer

That summer's sky was after the way of the wind
The memories inside aren't too much to handle
Every day you lost a thought, two tears fell

Under your hand the words "aren't a lie"

OK, I DO like the lyrics. Only that "I'll get rid of you" doesn't make sense to me. The other part is fantastic!

Overall rating:

The boring melody is only 1 heart worth. But the lyrics are worth 2, so three hearts!

Princess Serenity - Elly

Tone/Mood

Sounds like typical alternative Japanese rock music. The composition of the music seems rather simplistic; there doesn't seem much to the background music of the song at all. At least you can clearly understand his voice in this song. Thank God I haven't needed to romanize a song by Yoshito Endo by myself yet. I would go insane trying to understand what he's saying most of the time.

Placement

DEEP UNDER by Amber Dust, the band that Yoshito Endo is lead vocalist and pianist for.

Memorable

Not at all, unless you're a hard-core Yoshito Endo fan.

Lyrics:

That summer's dream wasn't an illusion
Now I want to be able to see change in the blue sky
I'm attached to looking at your stance

Could this possibly be about a summer romance? Naw. Yoshito isn't romantic like that =p These lyrics stand out to me from all others in the song; they're well composed, and actually make a bit of sense. It seems that there is a deeper meaning to these words, but I can't determine what it is.

Overall rating:

For now, this song gets a two. I haven't really heard enough of it to make a judgement about the entire song. But, from what I've heard, the song seems like it'll be repetitive and a bit boring.

Sailor Saturn - Miri-chan

Tone/Mood

The beginning few measures reminded me of the popular Inuyasha song "I Am". I thought, "Hm, I can endure this!" It was okay, I guess. The verses weren't all that good, and the chorus wasn't all that great either. I still feel like Yoshido Endo still isn't giving it his all. I'm sure he can do better. And I'm trying REALLY hard not to be biased about the whole hard rock thing, but it's not easy, mind you.

Placement

Yoshido Endo's album Deep Under

Memorable

The introduction, I guess

Lyrics

Argh! Another song whose lyrics don't match the music! I thought the title "Road of Wind" would be a flowing, softer song. Unfourtunately, we get another hard rock song.

Overall Rating

3 out of 5. The introduction was wonderful. The rest just went downhill from there.

Sailor V - Jessica

Tone/Mood

The tone is quite angst ridden and sounds as if its almost painful to sing, but that seems to be the beat of the song and how its sung rather than any other particular reason. If its styled like that for a reason then its well done and sets the tone. I'm glad the chorus speeds up, I'm not sure I could take such a down mood for the whole track unless I was in a bad mood.

Placement

None in PGSM

Memorable

Not particularly. The lyrics are interesting but I don't think anything about the actual music saves it enough to make it memorable.

Lyrics

That summer's sky was after the way of the wind
The memories inside aren't too much to handle
Every day you lost a thought, two tears fell

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan

Tone/Mood

This song is rugged sounding. A little sketchy, but really good. The opening is unique and when he starts to sing, the sound of the song becomes more catchy.

Memorible

I don't think I would remember this song that much. It sounds cool, but it isn't one of my favorites.

Lyrics

I like the lyrics! It goes with how the summer is going for people I know, and it's always a plus to be able to relate to a song!

A little part-time job Don't bribe me or I'll get rid of you Forget you ran away that day with so much pain Always remember the lights of midsummer

As an example, tese words are relateable for me. Well done!

Overall Rating

A 2. I'm not truely fond with this song, outside of the words.

Sailor Pluto - Sailorasteroid

Mood:

The singing in this song is reminiscent of the semi-constipated sounds of an 80's hair band, and the guitar is like the limited-chord rhythms of same. Now, many people deride this style. . . and I'm about to join them. The notes sound forced and harsh.

Placement:

Ah, where am I? What is this? A black hole?

Memorable:

Is which song memorable?

Lyrics:

I appreciate a good Japanese season-based song as much as the next guy, but this is just trite. "That summer's sky was after the way of the wind/The memories inside aren't too much to handle" Feh, where are my matsuri songs?

Overall:

Maybe, given to some real rocker like L'arc, or even a female artist like Puffy, the song has hope. Not now, though. One.

Nephrite - Frosted_Rain

Tone/Mood

Nice intro! ^^ Alternative rock japanese style by the likes of Asian Kung-Fu Generation and FLOW (if you're familiar with Naruto, you tet my idea) The song idea has an angry mood if you read the lyrics translation of the song. Endo-san sings like a typical JROCK singer. No doubt about it. ^^

Placement

Memorable

The intro reminds me of Video Killed the Radio Star by Presidents of the USA (love those peaches^^). Also reminds me of a wonderful intro of LINK by L~Arc~en~Ciel

Lyrics

But don't forget the promise we made in that place Don't forget the memories buried in the asphalt
Wow, should it be asphalt? Why not on the ground, Endo-san. ^^

That summer's dream wasn't an illusion Now I want to be able to see change in the blue sky I'm attached to looking at your stance

As of this writing, it's summer vacation to all Japanese students. Some are going out of the country or mostly, doing part time jobs. Summer is one of the many ways of making memories and all sorts of things never been done. Oh, how I love summer... ^^

Overall Rating

Not impressive but enough to fly high in a good altitude. Sometimes the intro really enchants me^^ 4 out of 5 for this song.
