ARCHIVED HTML - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan
Tone/Mood
Okay!! This is one of my favorite Ayaka Komatsu songs! It's very upbeat and happy. It's like Romance in the fact that it makes you wanna dance! I can picture all the senshi dancing to it!!!Placement
You watch Minako sing this in Act 40, when she is convinced to continue her singing career.Memorable
I think this song has happy beat, but I don't think a lot of people will remember it. It wasn't one of her biggest hits in my opinion, but it's a great song!Lyrics
Sometimes people will hurt (if you want me) your heart (I'll just be here) But it'll heal (every night) I can cry if I want to (cry if I want to) I can cry like heavy rain (cry like heavy rain) The pain is near again I love those words. Very true and sweet for Minako to say. This song has a decent amount of lovey-doveyness to it, which is great.Overall Rating
Hmmm....toughie because this song is good. I'll say a 4 because it has a really good beat, lovely lyrics, and i love Ayaka Komatsu!! Heehee.
Ciao - Sailor Pluto
Tone/Mood
The fast beat of the music is extremely danceable and makes me wanna bop in my seat. This is the first time I've heard the whole song and I rather like it. The only minus for me is that at times it seems like the lyrics are struggling to keep up with the fast-paced music.Placement
This being the first time I've heard the entire song, I don't know if it's in the series or not. If it is, I haven't seen it, as there is a whole part of the series I still haven't seen yet.Memorable
I'd easily believe it's a memorable song, given that I can already sing the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang parts pretty well. The peppy beat helps too. I already knew part of the song, having heard parts of it thru the series from various sources. It's just a shame that I don't recall it being part of the series.Lyrics
The lyrics are rather fun, even if they are sort of a cynical poke at heartache and the addition of the English lyrics really makes an impact for me as well. It just....oddly fits the tone of the song for me to have them in the song where they are. There are parts where Komatsu-san is struggling to catch up with the music, but it doesn't detract from the song itself this time.Overall Rating
I'd have to give it 4 stars, on the basis that the lyrics and the music fit together quite well, and you can tell how Komatsu-san has come a long way from C'est la Vie. It's quite an improvement and the song really suits her well.
Sailor Neptune - Ruth
Tone/Mood
I think of this song as a 'fighting' type of song. It's upbeat yet it makes me want to kick Youma butt too! Much better then her last song and much more enjoyable to listen to.Placement
Speaking of fighting, this is when we first heard the song! I believe Act 40 when the girls were fighting the Puddy Youma, Minako was in the Recording Studio singing this song. That's the only time I heard this song through out the series so I'm not sure if this fits anywhere else.Memorable
Tough one. I say kind of-I mean in some parts yes but since it was only used briefly in that one act I can't really see anyone getting excited whenever this song starts to play.Lyrics
Now I'm gonna say that this song, according to the lyrics, is really making me think that Minako had a past love (Kaito Ace anyone?) and she's telling this person off through this song."You say sorry// Your face changes
Sadly// You Walked away, even forgetting your limits// If it fits
Who is with you?// Kiss! Kiss! I'm love's spirit, aren't I?// Bang! Bang!
My heart has an open hole"
This is telling me that she got heart broken and wants this person to know about it!
Overall Rating
3 Hearts. A good 'fighting' type song but it wasn't really used for anything else but one act. I would of liked to have heard it more through out the remaining acts.
Topaz - Sailor Mercury
Tone/Mood
The tone it super upbeat! The music starts and to start to move your head side to side. Then you clap your hands. Finally you somehow start singing. Its an illness, I tell ya. starts with one person and moves to the next. Signs of loving song you ask. You try to sing the song wearing large headphones!Placement
This song is place in act 40. Minako had decided to end being an idol. When Rei steps in and the other girls to show her not to leave the thing she has put her heart and soul in to for years. And also that you can fight and singMemorable
Hmmm. Depends. If you love Minako's songs then I would say yes. But over all it only in the show near the end and once. So, it does not have the dancing and the fact you don't hear it lot in the show, just does not stick in your head as her other songs.Lyrics
The worlds seem like Minako but near the end it gets a bit non Minako-ish.Overall Rating
I would give this song a 3-3 1/2. its a so so song. either you love it or you hate it.
Jessica - Sailor V
Tone/Mood
Its upbeat and relatively happy, but I don't think its overly so. I mean, I think of it as an upbeat and cheerful song, but it doesn't have the hyper edge to it like songs such as 'C'est La Vie' and 'Sweet Little Resistance'. I think it has a wistful element to it, but maybe that's just me.Placement
The song is used in Act 40, the song Minako is recording after she finally realises that she should continue singing. It was never heard after that, if I remember correctly, and I don't think there's anywhere it would have fit. I can see Minako singing this to the girls in the Crowne, or them all singing it together, but not otherwise.Memorable
I only think it was memorably used in the show because of what occurred during the act. As a 'Minako' song, you're more likely to remember, 'C'est La Vie' or 'Romance'. I find it memorable because I was playing it all summer in the blazing heat and considering I hate the heat it was the only song that could cheer me up.Lyrics
A serious personI'm worried about
Kiss! Kiss!
Love is important
Bang! Bang!
But I'm afraid of it
I think these lyrics actually fit Minako more than any others, even if they're not supposed to. Minako is a serious person, worried about the love between her Princess and Endymion, she knows love is important, if only because she's the Senshi of love and beauty, but she's afraid of what their love will to do the world. She also comes across as terrified of the love between friends, she wont let herself become friends with the others because she's afraid of the pain she'll cause them.
Overall Rating
3/5 - Unless you really look at the lyrics they seem rather random, and considering it wasn't used a lot, it's not exactly a very memorable song unless you have reasons of your own.
Ilse - Dark Sailor Mercury
Tone/Mood
Finally, a song with Akaya's normal voice. I liked the song very much. The same as Emo-chan. The song is very upbeat and happy. It's very nice.Placement
I heard it first in act 40. The song fits totally in the series. It's really a song for Akaya.Memorable
It's a nice song, and I think some Akaya-fans will remember it. It's more one of her exiting songs.Lyrics:
Well, what can I say? They are very good! It's really a theme for Akaya.Overall rating:
I give it a rating of 4 hearts. It's one of Akaya's good songs. The lyrics, the beat, the melody Just a good song. Akaya, you rock!
Elly - Princess Serenity
Tone/Mood
DAMN this song is happy! This song puts me into a great mood and really lifts my spirits. This is the ULTIMATE tell-off song. Go Ayaka-chan!Placement
You know, I almost wish that "Mars Reiko" would have gotten the chance to sing this song. This song is done nicely by Ayaka, but it would have been interesting if Kitagawa-san had sung it instead. Personally, I think it would have suited Rei's hot-headedness a little more, but whatever. It works anyway.Memorable
Eh, this song is kind of memorable. If you're an Ayaka fan, then this song is for you. If not...then this becomes background music. Kind of like "insert random J-POP here", type of music.Lyrics:
Egao dake ja nai koi woSoredemo
Kono mama dakishimeru
Anata wo suki ni natte
Tsuyoku natta no
('cause anytime)
Sore dake wo
(Rainbow in my soul)
Mitsumeteru I'll be here
What great lyrics. They don't work out incredibly well grammatically wise in English, but they work in Japanese. Then again, good luck learning enough Japanese just to understand this song in lieu of my translations.
Overall rating:
4/5. This song is okay, but it gets rather repetitive very quickly. Good for if you need a quick cheering up.
Frosted_Rain - Nephrite
Tone /Mood
Bang! Bang! Ride 'em cowboy!!! Woo! Love the opening. My room always turns into a mosh pit listening to this song. Sometimes, I forgot its meaning and just rock my way up to nowhere. Love those guitar solos and the drum beat during the chorus. It's also kinda suprising she can also speak good english. All Right!Placement
Barely heard this song on Act 40 (i'm just getting to be forgetful these days, T_T) then poof... nothing follows. They should have this placed as an ending song rather just a small clip on the series.Memorable
My mind is just blank by listening on this song. I just feel the rock and roll vibration flow to my body and just dance the hell out (it pays to have long hair).Lyrics
Egao dake ja nai koi woItami wo koete-mamori-nuku no
Anata no koto omou to
Attakaku naru no
('cause anytime)
sore dake wo
(Rainbow in my soul)
Shinjiteru I'll be there
Ahh.. it feels good if someone sympathizes in the name of love.
Overall rating
Too bad the ending part doesn't have a very impact ending. The song gets monotonous on later part. But it's good to hear her say WOO!. 5/5
Sat - Sailor Saturn
Tone
Overly peppy which just doesn't seem to fit Venus at ALL. Maybe her celeb personality but man I feel like I am listening to a Kids Bop album again.... Somebody get out the drugs to help me recover for this... either that or good booze....Placement
Another Minako single. We knew that she wouldn't let MarsReiko win (thank god, even if she was hot in the wig and kimono styled outfit).Memorable
It left its impression but it didn't last long for me...Lyrics
"Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"... could somebody explain to me how these lyrics fit together?Overall Rating
2 Hearts. Once again a sympathy heart.... This song was nothing spectacular to me. I prefer C'est la Vie or Romance as a Venus character single then this thing that they have dubbed a song.
Tobias - Sailor Venus
Tone/Mood This song is good... not hyper... but well driven... I heard this in the act where Minako and Reiko Mars (Rei-chan!) battled to be the best idol... (part of Rei's scheme) It it nice to listen to and isn't an annoying song to hear over and over... I enjoy it.
Placement
This song fits... sort of... it makes a weird song to use during a battle sequence... that's for sure... but it fits. It of course would only work if they made a concert scene... because this song just won't work elsewhere.Memorable
Its memorable enough... I remember to put it my playlist... and when I make PGSM mix albums it is usually on it (Along with "Sakura Fubuki" and "Kirari * Sailor Dream!) Its a nice song to listen to... and it is easily remembered along with "C'est la vie".Lyrics
Kiss!² Bang!²... its lyrics are... well... ok. Its use of English seems odd "I can cry if I want to"... reminds me of that song "Its my party and..." Anyway... its lyrics work for it... but it still sounds odd... but that's just me.Overall Rating
4 out of 5... It is another great Minako song! Definitely one I listen to when I feel like listening to Minako.
Sebi - Jedite
Tone/Mood
At last another song that has some energy to it! I think this tune fits into the "J-rock" category more then J-pop. Happy and uplifitng, maybe not one that'll get you up and dancing, but it'll definitly put a smile on your face.Placement
Minako sings this in act 40Memorable
Highly, its energetic and the lyrics flow well with the music. A toss up as to whther you might find yourself singing or humming it every once in awhile.Lyrics:
Ergh, kinda incoherent here. You can get the general idea but only after listening a few times. Not that that's important to the mood of the song though.Overall Rating:
Sailor Uranus - Nickole
Tone/Mood
The beat of this song is TERRIFIC!!!It just makes you want to get up and dance! I'm sure that any SM fan will love this song! :)Placement
I think it is heard in Act 40 when you see Minako inher career.Memorable
Okay, in reality, the lyrics are hard to memorize, but at least you can get the beat stuck in your head! :)Lyrics:
Smiling faces are not in lovePain turns into protection against
Your thoughts and
I'll begin to attack
('cause anytime)
This embrace
(rainbow in my soul)
Believe I'll be here
These are very cute lyrics, I just adore them!
Overall Rating
I'll give it a 5, because of how wonderful Minako sings it, how spectacular the lyrics are, and how much I love it! I know not everyone loves this song, but hooray for those of you who do love it!
Kara - Kuroki Mio

TONE/MOOD:
There's a bit towards the end that reminds me of Blink 182. Not a bad thing, just thought I'd mention it. Ayaka seems to escape from her ennui a bit here. Perhaps that's a character-based thing, but either way it's nice to hear. This has a great upbeat tone that's nice and firm without being ditzy.PLACEMENT:
Minako sings this after deciding to return to her singing career; it's also on the 'I'm Here' CD, which I would say is fictional except that it's in the 'Moonlight Real Girl' boxed set.MEMORABLE:
Oh, yes. This is probably my favourite of Minako's songs.LYRICS:
They're applicable in so many directions. It's a fine stand-alone, but it works well with her character, too.Pain turns into protection against
Your thoughts and
I'll begin to attack
('cause anytime)
This embrace
(rainbow in my soul)
Believe I'll be here
OVERALL RATING:
5 out of 5. I can't really find a flaw with this song.
