Dark Sailor Mercury - Ilse
Tone/Mood
In the beginning, the intro is almost the same like Hidamari, that's the reason why I first thought that it was the same melody as Hidamari instead of Crybaby. Now, I get back on what I said in the Crybaby review. Kawabe did two songs with the same melody. It calls a lot of questions. For more, just look in my staff favorites and see for yourelf :P!Placement

Yes! It is small and sweet!!! Oh, I almost want to hug my pillow when I hear this, or my old teddy's (yeh, I still have some old one on the attic!)! This is such a song that we cal a "zwijmel" song! It's perfect to slow on it!Lyrics
Everyone has these kinds of sad memories. You have to let them go,you have to say the things you mean
Let go of these things, the things you say don't really exist.
Will I ever be able to love again?
Like I said! This song has good lyrics! It's SWEET!!!!!!!
Overall rating
5!5!5!5! Kawabe's best song ever. It's better than crybaby, although the lyrics are less good then Crybaby! I also want to hear more of this style. Kawabe, you can sing everything! I even will not ben impressed when she's going to sing an opera! (Well, may be a bit!)
Sailor Mercury - Topaz
Tone/Mood
The opening for the song is very strong then it goes in to a soft mood. The singer is almost speaking the words. A slow song with lots of big sounds. Thats how i think of itPlacement
N/AMemorable
not really. I don't really find to many slower songs memorable. more upbeat songs just seem to stay in your headLyrics
This time I am making sure I will not lose again. These words just stand out. Something about them just has such a strong feel. and the big music really help you get the feelof the song. As for the other lyrics. They are nice. It seem to me that she has been hurt before. Now she had found this other person that showed her how love was.
Overall Rating
I give this song a 3. It has wonderful big sound but the singing just does not work with this to me.
Zoicite - Ephie
Tone/Mood:
Oh wow. I really really like this song, right off the bat. I adore slow songs, and I think it's absolutely wonderful with her singing in that little voice. Hey, and it's the tune of Cry Baby! I loved that song, and I stick by this one as well. Sometimes songs with the same tunes do get harder to remember seperately, but I've had a few others from the Sera Myu I'm still in love with, all several versions of the song.Placement:
Cheiko's CD :DMemorable:
Very much so. I can't get the chorus melody out of my head and I can see me singing either this or Cry Baby out of the blue.Lyrics:
I can't pick out any bit over the other in this song. Hopefully, this song won't mean what I feel it does right now. If anyone would like to know, you may ask me, but it's a bit personal to put into words right here. ;) Just know I absolutely love them, I feel for her loss in this song, and I hope I never have to be in that position.Overall rating:
I give this song a 5, most definately. It couples a tune I adore and lyrics that are possibly too eerily close to home.
Kuroki Mio - Kara
TONE/MOOD:
Oh, hello! This is the same tune as 'Cry Baby.' But it's a very different song in places. It starts out a lot softer, a lot more shy and hestiant, and then slowly builds into something more like its parent-song. Chieko is deliberately holding her voice back here, but it works in an interesting way. There was a bit of the fun guitar work like in the aforementioned song, but it doesn't have the same feel to it at all 'til towards the end.PLACEMENT:
Kawabe Chieko's 'Brilliance' album.MEMORABLE:
Yes, but not as good a version of the song as 'Cry Baby,' which was much bolder.LYRICS:
These aren't as strong as the lyrics in her other songs. There was a sort of weak determination (I love contradiction, don't I?) to them, but it wasn't anything that stood out hugely for me.OVERALL:
3 out of 5. Nice, but I prefer it as 'Cry Baby.'
Sailor Pluto - Ciao
Tone/Mood
This is a slower, almost country-style song. Very much a relaxing break from the hyperness of PinkPinkPink. *sighs with relief*Memorable
The melody/music is very simliar to another song of hers, called CryBaby. The lyrics are slightly different though. I remember the music the most because I have a copy of the other song on a CD in my car (as does my son, who plays it every night to go to sleep -.-) It's still nice and relaxing for all that.Lyrics
The lyrics are more generally reflective than the other songs. More of a 'glad I've found/got you' kind of song, but in a more general way. Almost like a celebration of sorts too. The ending of:itsuka
tsubete wo
taiseru you ni
inobotte
reminds me of the Beatles actually. Some of their middle years songs. I can't quite place it but yeah, the music behind the song is very like it.
Overall Rating
3/5 partly because it's a copy of another song with different lyrics. Also because I'm not a huge fan of slower songs, even if it's relaxing and a relief from the other song. It's still good, for all that.
Sailor Neptune - Ruth
Tone Mood
Hey it's the same as CryBaby! only different lyrics! *gasp* What the hey was she thinking? I know using some parts of another song is fine but the whole freaking bit? Oi. Not a happy camper. In fact I can't listen to the song more then 4 seconds....EEK! Anywho, the song is slow paced just like CryBaby! Many will sing the lryics to CryBaby while others, like me, will skip the song all together.Placement

Oi another one bites the dust. Only way this song is memorable is for the fact that it's the same as CryBaby! Only difference of the two songs are the lyrics.Lyrics
"I'm wounded, again and again, when I met you I learned the meaning of love. This sky is near this place where, now is gone"
Different lyrics same song. *I am repetitive* However, the lyrics always seem to outshine the song. To me, this set of lyrics gives me the feeling that she's had a rough patch in the love department but after meeting this guy, she's head over heals. Chieko, make up your mind girl!
Overall Rating
I give this song a 0 out of five. Nada. Zelch. ZERO! That's right. I gave this a score of zero. Because I dispise the song.
Sailor Luna - Emo-chan
Tone/Mood
What a sad song. I like the sound, and I can picture her crying as she sings this song. I remember seeing part of a music video for it, and it's such a serene song.Placement

I know Ill remember this song when I think of Cheiko because this song is so pretty and it really points out her good qualities as a singer.Lyrics
I'm wounded, again and again, when I met you I learned the meaning of love. This sky is near this place where, now is goneI am open to new things, the new sky is always open, and I will take that change
I just love those lines because it has such expression and hurt in them. Then they change and she gets stronger in the song from her words. I really like that.
Overall
a 5 because it is such a pretty song. It reminds me of Cry Baby Cry a little bit.
Tuxedo Mask - Kero-chan
Tone/Mood:
This is a nice ballad, mellow, smooth and nice to hear. Chieko's voice sounds soft, almost as she is whispering the song. I can imagine a crowd sitting in a bar, listening Chieko sing this song. The lights are dim, and we can only see Chieko covered in a soft blue light, almost like if it was her aura. Everyone is relaxed and has a smile on their faces; they are carried by Chieko's heavenly voice.Placement:
You can find this song in "Brilliance".Memorable:
Yes, because of two things. The melody is the same as Cry Baby, just changed a little to be a complete ballad. The second thing that'll make it memorable is because Chieko's voice sounds different and you can relax with this song.Lyrics:
I can't put my favorite part because OMG, the entire song is my favorite part!!! I loved the lyrics. I have a friend that has had some love issues and this part of the songI'm wounded, again and again; when I met you I learned the meaning of love.
The light knows those small wings are able to fly away
explains exactly her feelings toward love. Even though it copies the melody of another song, they knew how to change the feeling of the melody with the lyrics.
Overall Rating:
In spite of the lyrics and the fact that I like the song, it still copies the melody of Cry Baby, which I like a lot. I give this song 4 out of 5 stars.
Sailor V - Jessica
Tone/Mood
The tone is a lot more gentle and soft than the song that shares its basic melodic line, but seems to have more heart to it, though it seems like a weaker effort on Kawabe's part. The mood is pretty much the same as 'Cry Baby', to me, and I'd either listen to one or the other, most likely 'Cry Baby' and not this.Placement

I don't find the track particularly memorable. I only remember it because I was a little surprised to find a track with a duplicate melody of another and wondered whether it was just a filler track to make the listing longer. That said, it is a lovely melody and I guess if it can be used for another song, it should be.Lyrics
Everyone has these kinds of sad memories. You have to let them go,You have to say the things you mean
These lines are pretty much the truth, but they're such a current media cliché. The rest of the lyrics are rather angst ridden, but appear to translate well and are quite beautiful.

Princess Sailor Moon - Kaitlin
Tone/Mood
It starts out sounding like the end track to a sappy romance movie. I do like the vocals a lot though. Another Ayu rip off it seems to me. Something about this song is so unbelievably pretty and childish that I cling to it for no justifiable reason. I want to sing along, which is a good thing ^^Placement

This time I am making sure I will not lose again. You are not here, the sky is above me, and I can go to learn its meaning I will do things like gain nice things, not forget those words, not be afraid of those dreams close to me, and chase their meanings I'm wounded, again and again, when I met you I learned the meaning of love. The light knows those small wings are able to fly awayThese are some fairly deep lyrics for a pop song. Especially when compared to some of her others. I love this sentiment.
Everyone has these kinds of sad memories. You have to let them go, you have to say the things you mean Let go of these things, the things you say don't really exist. Will I ever be able to love again?
That is exactly right. I have felt that way far too much. I think this song inspires something in me, reminding me to never feel that way again.

At first, the introduction has a good start. When Chieko starts singing with the guitar background, it's such a mystery. "Did i hear this before?" as i said. It's from her song Cry Baby. And if you notice clearly, the introduction part of the song sounds from the introduction of Hidamari. I don't know why recycle the tone of her song. Her voice is sounds robotic. Weird.Placement

Hearing remixes is too nostalgic to me especially those ones which are poorly remixed. Hearing this makes me feel weird.Lyrics
Let go of these things, the things you say don't really exist.I'm a good liar sometimes, manipulating people's minds as i wish. Too bad i should let go of that habit...

Sometimes, i think of listening to Cry Baby rather listening to Little Wing. Too short and repetitive from Cry Baby. A good mix of tones from Hidamari and Cry Baby for Little Wing. 3 hearts for the effort but still, unimpressive for me.

Brilliance by Kawabe ChiekoMemorable
If you liked Cry Baby, you'll remember this song. It's the extended, softer, more wordy version of Cry Baby. The words are different than the original, but that's about it.Lyrics
God, this song was a pain in the ass to translate. I won't lie, this song took me the longest out of any on the entire CD to translate. It was painful. That left me with some bad feelings about the song:I'm wounded, again and again, when I met you I learned the meaning of love.
This sky is near this place where, now is gone
These lyrics stand out in particular to me. They're so pretty, so soft, and so filled with pain. I know that sounds a little emo, but it's true.
Overall Rating
I like this song more than Cry Baby, to be honest. For some reason, the words flow better and the lyrics are prettier. Go Chieko!
Sailorasteroid - Sailor Pluto
Mood:
I think this is one of only two of Chieco's songs that doesn't follow the general "verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-final chorus" pattern. There are breaks, but it all sounds like one big mass. Or maybe one big mess. I kept waiting for something to happen, and it didn't. (This may sound familiar)Placement:
Fifth on the Brilliance album, though I suppose it might have done well if it were eighth.Memorable:
OK, I've been playing around with it, so here it is. This is a carbon copy of Cry Baby. Which might have work had they left Cry Baby off the album, but they're both there! This is not quite unprecedented (Chuck Berry did it with School Day and No Particular Place to Go), but it's memorable for being a cheap song trick.Lyrics:
Not quite as good as Cry Baby.Overall:
If I bought the album I'd want a tenth of my money back. I'll give it the same rating as Cry Baby. One.
Queen Beryl - Molly
Tone/Mood
I love the feel of this song. It gives the message of the urge to keep on going, despite the fact of being hurt. The music to the song is very calming, and relaxing.Memorable
I think this song is memorable to me, since it passes a nice message along, and sometimes a song like that is what I need to get me out of a slump. I like the way she made her voice so soft, and almost childish.Lyrics
The lyrics are very well written, and speak of good and bad. My favourite part had to be when she sings "I'm wounded, again and again, when I met you I learned the meaning of love. The light knows those small wings are able to fly away."
because sometimes I feel the need to fly away... Don't we all?
Overall Rating
I give this song a 5. The lyrics hit close to home, and comforted me. I look for this when chosing a song to listen too.
Sailor Saturn - Miri-chan
Tone/Mood
Ooh, a soothing song! The beginning reminds me of a waltz, and the melody line itself is very lilting and smooth. Back to the song imagery thing! What do I see this time when I close my eyes? It reminds of a beautiful sunset, a lone girl sitting in the grass, with flowers swaying in the field around her, and dandelion seeds floating by on the wind. The mood isn't really sad, and doesn't carry much emotion at all. It's just a casual song that one would sing out of boredom, almost.Placement
On Kawabe Chieco's CD Brilliance.Memorable
Not at all. ^-^;; But that's just my opinion. It didn't stick in my mind very long, and 20 minutes after listening to the song I didn't even remember what it sounded like.Lyrics
The lyrics were the only reason why this song received a 3/5 from me.I'm wounded, again and again, when I met you I learned the meaning of love.
The light knows those small wings are able to fly away
Doesn't that just scream "tragic love story"? I love the fact that this is one of those songs that actually carries meaning to it, unlike some others that Kawabe-san has done, like Leave Me Alone.
Overall Rating
3 out of 5 hearts. It's not a terrible song, and the beginning is extremely pretty. However, I do think Kawabe-san could have done better with the overall emotion and feel of the song itself. Perhaps some more variety in pitch, as in Hoshi ni Negai wo.
