Princess Serenity - Elly

Tone/Mood

Very J-POP sounding, and upbeat. This song is good if you're already hyper, and just want to get PUMPED. Like, if you're playing DDR, for instance =)

Placement

This is a Jupiter character song. Personally, I think this is the best one of the two. With lyrics that have to do with sports and being strong, this fits Jupiter's character very well. Someone did a good job on the PGSM songs, for once.

Memorable

Not incredibly. Even though it is a good song, and it is the better of the two Jupiter songs, it just doesn't stick out in my mind. It's a little bland, and tends to melt into background noise.

With imagery of sports and being the strong victor, this fits Jupiter perfectly. The imagery and wording used in the song is rather interesting to boot.

Overall Rating

I give it a four. I like the song a lot and respect it for decently portraying Jupiter's character, but this song just gets BORING after a while! Really, maybe the composer of the music should have made things a little more interesting.

Frosted_Rain - Nephrite

Tone/Mood

Ah... another one of those jolly, songs from the PGSM. Here, we listen to Azama Myuu's higer-pitched voice (or tone) in singing (her tone in Miracle Dance Tonight is low). From the song title itself, it's LOVELY YELL (well, DUH!), lkively (upbeat) and jolly. This kind of atmosphere equates to other upbeat PGSM OST's namely Here We Go, C'est La Vie and Happy Time Happy Days (Oh Ayaka, you did it again... hehehehe...).

Placement

As I've stated on my review on Miracle Dance Tonight (I'll repeat it again.) only Azama Myuu's songs were NOT included, heard or placed on the whole PGSM series. Is this some kind of felony, favoritism or scam? Is it because she's the tallest of the Sailor Five (she's 5 feet 6 inch tall) doesn't mean her song is NOT placen in the series whatsoever (on my observation, Japanese women are rather short. Tall Japanese women are rather rare for me)? Does her music suck for them? They should have answers for it (conspiracies... tsk tsk tsk). The ONLY event where she sang in the series is on Act 14. She sang Katagoshi ni Kinsei (Weeee, Ayaka-chan again!) together with Luna. Kinda funny and cute though (I've never imagined I've used such words on my reivew).

Memorable

My friend was kinda confused on what is the title of the song. Lovely YEAR? Lovely EEL? After a quick research, he found it was Lovely YELL. I love to listen on the instrumental bridge at the middle of the song (the one with srums and guitar things). Again, my friend asked me on how do a yell becomes lovely. My answer: "Just listen to the song, dumbass!".

Sucre Bleu, I like that kind of idea the song says. Too bad love has no place for me at this moment (it just destroys my intellect at this rate if I'm consumed with it).

Overall Rating

Like Kitagawa Keiko, Azama Myuu is a great model at Seventeen Magazine Japan. Unlike Keiko-chan, Myuu-chan is an average singer. 4 hearts will do for this song. As for my choice, Miracle Dance Tonight is still prefered as Myuu's "better" song than Lovely Yell.

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone

Upbeat with a slight, very slight, techno beat. It's hard to hear but I can point it out in some areas. This isn't a crazy dance mix, but one can dance to it and have a good time. I think it's more head bob and foot tapping worthy more then anything. This isn't Azama's best work. She did much better in "Miracle Dance Night" as her voice was more sultry. But that's not the point. Point is is that Azama-chan could of done better!

Placement

Another song not used in the show or any specials. If I were to use this song it would be in a Jr. High School dance-I mean let's face it, do you really think any High Schools would play this song? Maybe one or two schools, but it's not very likely.

Memorable

One of those songs one needs to listen to to make up their minds. I don't think it is since it was never used and it's not Azama's best vocal performance.

The lyrics make me think this is an athete song. Almost like she is chearing her crush on while watching from afar. (See Act 6...)

Overall Rating

3 hearts for this song! Again, Azama has a lovely voice but this song just didn't do her any justice, sadly. I don't know what else to say other then that if Azama was given a different song, maybe she could of had a better chance at a higher 'score.'

Tuxedo Mask - Kero-chan

Tone/Mood:

My first impression of this song was: "Wow! It is totally different compared to Miracle Dance Night!" Certainly, in this song, Azama's voice sounds more feminine, showing us, the other side of 'tomboy' Mako-chan. The melody is happy, and the background voices, along with Mew's, make a nice image song for Sailor Jupiter.

Placement:

Only in her character's single, and some other PGSM albums. I think it would have been cool to place this song in the series maybe for a M/M moment. XD

Memorable:

If you are a true fan of Sailor Jupiter/Mew/Makoto you will, or maybe, too, if you LOVE PGSM (as I do). The song has a catchy melody, and once you hear it, you're going to sing some parts of the song for sooome time ^^;

Lyrics:

It is strange, before I read the lyrics, I thought this was some kind of love song, sang bye Makoto (I thought it was "Get your Love, Get your kiss. Wo~" XD). Now that I pay more attention to the lyrics, I think this song would have been a very nice fighting scene background melody:

It sounds to me, that if you are hearing this song, you have to kick some youma's butt! XD but my favorite part is this one:

This song deserves 4 stars. Is nicely done, the arrangement is really well done and this song 'tone' sounds more like old time Mako-chan that MDN (not that I don't like that song! XD).

Ilse - Dark Sailor Mercury

Tone/mood

I don't know why, but if I hear this song, it makes me think of a football competition. May be because of the KIKKUOFU, the saigo no game (the final game), the gattsu etc. It just makes me think of cheerleaders and that sort of stuff. Very funny! This song is almost like one of their yells.

Nope, not in the series. Too bad.

Memorable

Yes, it is for me. And for the Azama fans also. And for people who think just like me that the lyrics are too funny for words!!!! I think this is Azama's best song.

Okay! *Listens to song* This songs beat and mood is really energetic and makes you want to get up and dance! I just love the guitar part in the beginning, it totally rocks! :)

I give this song a 5 for an excellent beat, and fun lyrics. This is probably one of my favorite Sailor Jupiter/Makoto songs, if not my favorite overall PGSM song!

Kuroki Mio - Kaitlin

Tone/Mood

I've come to dread songs by Mew. This one starts off way better than her disco disaster did. Her voice sounds a little bit strained... perhaps to high for her? The lines are delivered with a sort of femininity that Makoto doesn't often get. The engrish in the song and the upbeat tune bring out the tomboy better than the previous song. This one is pretty good, makes me feel sort of cheerful. I could listen to this while jogging or training for the big fight! There are a few catchy bits that make you sing them out loud with Mew. I feel uplifted listening to this.

This song is the one I think of when I think of a good Mew song. It's not terribly memorable though, since you never hear it in the show.

Definately suits her. "Let's let it fly again today! I'm sure you'll win the final game You did make it this far, all right! I'm sure you'll get the lovely goal!" You can almost hear the brazillian soccer announcer going "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALLLLL" in the background. They really had to make up with the horrid lyrics of MDN.

"If you feel down, if you're in pain Don't give up, run! To the end! The ball draws a large arc You can see forever, your tears flow I'll give you a kiss of victory! " A little bit of female charm here, which is very much like Makoto. Though it makes me wonder if the writer was watching soccer while writing this? Makoto never plays soccer once in the whole show... unless this is referencing the basketball episode where she first shows up...

"Get you! love! Get you! kiss! Wo~ I love you!"

Delivered in an extremely cute fashion. Well done.

3 - Good, but not as good as others. Still better than her Miracle Dance Night disaster.

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan

Tone/Mood

A very nice beat. It has a great rockish/pop feel to it, and defiantely Makoto in the series. It has an edge to it, but also has that feminine shine to it.

Placement

Not in the series, but is the other character song for her. I like this one better because it suits her more sicne it talks about sports and the beat of it sounds more like her.

Memorable

I'll think this song wil be more memorable for me when it somes to Jupiter in the live action. It has such a better value to the character than her other song.

Queen Beryl - Alexa

Tone/Mood

The tone and mood of this song seem very bland to me, but I know there is some sort of happy beat inside there, usually though, when I think of happy, I think of the horrid sounds we hear in songs like Over Rainbow Tour, which, what I like to call �Schoolgirl singing�, which really bothers me. Anyway, I don�t really think there�s really a happy mood here, and if there is, it doesn�t affect me in any way.

Placement

However much I�d love to write tons and tons of text here, I�m pretty sure this was only featured on the CDs.

Memorable

It�s as memorable as songs I don�t actually like can get. I know the beat of this song by heart, and most of the lyrics, too. However, it doesn�t really have any meaning to me, as I�m not much of a tomboy, however, I�m not biasing the song and saying,�Oh, because it�s Jupiter�s, it�s for tomboys�. Not true, but, I think it might hold some sort of deeper meaning to a tomboy or maybe a very athletic person, of which, I am naught.

I really feel the lyrics fit into Makoto/Jupiter�s attitude and strength, and how she�s not just some super-strong rock person without feeling, however, considering Mew plays Jupiter that�s kind of obvious.

That seems very Jupiter-like to me, I mean, very strong and powerful, like Jupiter, especially how we�re getting into a more boyish attitude with guts and such. *Rolls eyes* Anyway, continuing,

However much I�d like not to say this, it seems these lyrics are directed at Sailormoon, with the exception of the kiss, however, it seems more like something Minako would say, rather than Makoto, don�t you think?

My overall rating is three. I�d like to have said 3 �, but, that�s impossible, and I�m not a real fan of Mew�s singing..

Zoicite - Ephie

Tone/Mood

Ah. Much much better. Now THIS song is one for Makoto. Again, this is one of my nice relaxing songs that I really like to crank up on the way home from class.

CDs only I think.

Memorable

I love this song. Usually I remember the part with "Get you! Love! Get you! Kiss! Wooooo" first before I remember bits and pieces of the rest of the song. This goes on my list to another song I'd love to sit and learn. Pity it wasn't used in the series. Not sure where it would have gone, though.

This is my favorite part. She's expressing how she's the port in the storm, so to speak, and I really find that true to her character. Overall I just like all the lyrics, though, so it was hard to pick out my favorite.

I give it another 4. The music needs something else, perhaps stronger. It would rock out loud if it was louder, but such is my opinion.

Prince Endymion - Alexander

Toon/Mood

"Lovely Yell" is very different from "Miracle Dance Night", but that doesn't mean that it isn't a good peace. With very up-beat melody, cool guitar sound and amusing voice, "Lovely Yell" is one of the best Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon songs. It's jolly and optimistic - like Mako-chan! I really adore this song!

Placement

Only on the PGSM CDs, but WHY?! Why haven't the PGSM directors put this lovely peace in the series as well?!

Memorable

"Lovely Yell" is not very memorable to me. I like it better than "Miracle Dance Night" and it's even Jupiter's character single, but I just don't remember it.

I have to say that the lyrics fit Sailor Jupiter REALLY much:

"I'm sure you'll win the final game
You did make it this far, all right!
I'm sure you'll get the lovely goal!" - These lines make me remember Makoto's strength.

"If you feel down, if you're in pain
Don't give up, run! To the end!
The ball draws a large arc
You can see forever, your tears flow
I'll give you a kiss of victory! " - With this part of the song Makoto reveals her soul-power.

"Get you! love! Get you! kiss! Wo~

I love you! " - PERFECT ending of "Lovely Yell"!!

The word "kiss" is repeated many times because even tho' Makoto is a strong and tomboy, she doesn't think love is a useless feeling, as she says in the act when Usagi, Rei and Makoto were dating with Motoki, Mamoru and the turtle-lover.

Overall Rating

"Lovely Yell" is a well-done song which should be rated with 3 hearts! ^.^

Sailor Venus - Tobias

Tone/Mood

This song is happy... but not really hyper. Upbeat but bland... It fits Jupiter though. It seems to have a sporty theme going which reflects Jupiter as well.

Placement

Nowhere but the music discs... probably due to the other senshi songs being really popular... (I.e. Sakur Fubuki... etc.) But I can't really see its use anywhere... it just doesn't seem to fit...

Memorable

Memorable enough for a Jupiter song... but it really works in my MP3 playlist so its memorable enough to listen to... but no so much on repeat... since it seems to be lacking something...

Lyrics

Those lyrics fit Jupiter really well... it seems to fit her relationship with the very... interesting Motoki... the song as a whole fits Jupiter. Which is why the lyrics work so well... it makes the song a fitting character image song.

I see this song as more of a Jupiter song... with its pep and "Get up and go" attitude... plus for some reason... I am reminded of Azama-san in the turtle suit... now thats love... heh.

Sailor Pluto - Ciao

Tone/Mood

It's a nice rock song, but her voice just isn't up to the task. It needs more of an edge to it. She sings it like it's some kind of ballad and it's not, to me.

I don't really think it's memorable for any reason. Her voice doesn't fit, the lyrics don't really fit at the end either. It's a rock tune, not some pop-y kind of thing. It really disappoints me. I like a good rock tune, no matter what language it's in and this makes me rather sad that she's not up to the job.

Lyrics

The lyrics really don't go with the music towards the end of the song. It fits to start with, (if they found someone who could sing it with more of an edge) but then sort of degenerates into the peppy pop stuff that the rest of the girls sing. The 'Get you! Love! Get you! Kiss! Wo....' stuff really annoyed me. It's not really in keeping with the rest of the song at all.

I'm rather disappointed in this song. Her voice totally doesn't fit the song at all. It's too...soft...for the hard edge of the music. I think it would have been better sung by Komatsu-san. She can put more of an edge in her voice to go with the song I think. (maybe) I would give this song a 2.

Sailorasteroid - Sailor Pluto

Mood:

Well, it's supposed to be like a sports mood, but the percussion isn't intense enough to call to mind running and jumping, nor is the song simple enough to become a chant (think We Will Rock You). The declining notes in the chorus make it feel like a song to play after the event is over and has been won.

Memorable:

Well, it's the only one of the Big Ten character singles to have a theme and not just be about love and happiness and such. But the music doesn't have any parts that get stuck in your head.

Lyrics:

Lotsa Engrish makes for a fun time. "Accident" has three syllables, not six. And a "lovely goal" should not be confused with a "robbery gore." You can have fun with friends having them try to identify all the English words here. Also, I find something slightly kinky about claiming to be the goddess of victory, who will give a kiss to the winners.

Overall:

One wishes the music were as distinct as the lyrics but on the whole it's not a bad song. Or, if it could have been made the focus of an episode, with Makoto perhaps cheering on Motoki in some wildly conceived sporting event (turtle racing?), to give it some staying power. As it is, it's an also-ran. Two.

Sailor Jupiter - Joy Azama

Tone/Mood

I first heard this song when I downloaded it on the net. My first impression is that I love it! I had fun listening to it, added with the meaning of the lyrics, this song made my day! I could dance all night with this song, and I always play it either on my player or on my mind whenever I am determined on doing something. This song brought a sense of determination for me. Mew's voice on this one is on the higher note compared to her sultry one in Miracle Dance night, which adds to the uniqueness of Makoto/Jupiter's character.

Placement

Not played on any part of the series, or live event, just on the CDs (which is too bad, it would make a good fun-fight song perhaps on Act 0? Well, hopefully!).

Memorable

Definitely memorable for me, this song helped me a lot in my exams! ^_^ It also brought me a gust of inspiration at times when I have to get things done and somebody is challenging me. I always play it, and never skipped it. A very good Makoto character single!

As you could tell by the lyrics presented above, this song is full of confidence, determination, and motivation. I was once a football-soccer player in the Philippines, and a fan of England's Manchester United, which means song really has a lasting effect for me. The song brought back wonderful memories for me: the adrenalin, the wind (just like in the lyrics, and the glory. The PGSM Makoto is a very athletic character, one who is not concerned of her looks, and is just brave and determined in every possible way. Goddess of Victory! Loved the lyrics very much!

Overall Rating

I give this song a 5 out of 5 hearts! This song is Makoto, my favorite senshi, and furthermore sang by my favorite actress, Mew Azama! This song is my savior, like I said; I passed a lot of examinations because of it. It never fails to lift up my spirits. Go Jupiter! You rock!

Kunzite - Loreal

Tone/Mood

This song has a great beat. It is a rocking song and thats that. I felt that she could have sounded a little more excited when she sang. It sort of slowed the song a bit.

Memorable

I actually found a song that I liked. Again, her singing didn't really fit the song most of the time.

Lyrics

The song was very sporty and sounded like Jupiter for the most part. I didn't quite get the "Get you! love! Get you! kiss! Wooo I love you!" It sounds like she will just go out and get what she wants. In the series though, she seemed to be a bit hesitant to get close to Motoki, almost dragging her heels.

Overall Rating

I will give it a four. The beat was great and I liked the lyrics, even though the voice wasn't too peppy.

Kuroki Mio - Kara

TONE/MOOD:

I have a Winamp playlist called my Burning Soul Mix ... this is what I play whenever I have to get myself into a 'fighting against all the odds' mood. This song's at the top of it. It's got such a Mako-chan feel to it - it's tough, and at the same time encouraging.

PLACEMENT:

Kino Makoto's character single.

MEMORABLE:

Yes, very much so.

LYRICS:

It's nice to have a song that says 'Get up and keep going.' And this does it while also managing to be a love song. The 'Goddess of Victory' motif is very nice. The lyrics actually remind me of Sunrise's yuusha anime franchise (I know this won't mean anything to anyone), which depicted characters who were both heroic and gentle. It's a delicate balance, but this song manages to hit it.

OVERALL RATING:

5 out of 5 hearts. This is one of my favourite image songs from the series.
