Sakura Fubuki (Cherry Blossom Storm)

Topaz - Sailor Mercury

Tone/Mood

The tone of this song is just sexy. the sound of it, the singing and everything. Its an upbeat sexy song.

Placement

Besides the CDs, the only place you see or hear the song is in the Super live stage show

Memorable

Oh my gosh yea. And if you are a Mars fan even more of a yes! Its such a different sounding song that it that it stand out.

Lyrics

Can I become strong
Someday?
Rei always wonder if she is strong enough and these words say that wonderfully

I'll search forever for the sight of a white angel
Once again I don't know what about these words do it for me but they have Rei Hino all over them.

Back when I smelled purple lilacs
Memories of distant snow
Smoothly covering the ground
Rei lost her mother and her father is never there for her. These three lines to me sound like rei talking about happier days.

I'll chase forever
Beyond this deep forest
I know he's waiting
The man who will walk along with me
"Starry Night!" I swear! The words fit very well If you ask me. ^^

Overall Rating

I give Cherry blossom a 5. It a very catchy song. Its easy to sing with, and its just altogether a good song

Alexander - Prince Endymion

Tone/Mood

"Sakura Fubuki" is one of my favourite songs! Its melody is perfectly balanced - it's neither too happy and fast, neither too slow and boring. When I heard it for first time in act 23, I even didn't know its name. But I immediatelly "fall in love" with it. It brings me a strange feeling, combination of calmness and kind of passion, and when I listen it, I remmeber Rei and her personality. "Sakura Fubuki" is like Rei - in the begining, it seems a bit cold and unfriendlly, but then it's filled with passion. Kitagawa-san was done a great job singing this song!

Placement

Act 23 is the perfect place to put this song. It's like that "Sakura Fubuki" shows how strong Rei's will is.

Memorable

I think that this song can be forgotten. I suppose that all Pretty Guardian Moonies love it because it feets overyone's likes - neithery too happy, nor to melanholic as I said before. It's for romanticists, optimists, melancholic people...

Lyrics

To be honest, when I watched act 23 and Rei sang the song, it was with subtitles. I knew only the last 5-6 lines of the lyrics.. From what I read while I was watching the act, I liked the lyrics. Now let's see them all... Hmmm, they are lyrical and soft. I think they reflect Rei's soul. I like them.

Overall Rating

I'll rate this song with five hearts, only because I cannot rate it with six. ^.^ As I said, I love "Sakura Fubuki". The reason I like it so much is because perhpas the melody is so beautiful. Even the words wouldn't had been good, I'd still have liked the song!!

Ilse - Dark Sailor Mercury

Tone/Mood:

The song has a nice beat. It's very catchy. This song has really something Spanish inside. I don't know what, but my feeling says it has.

Placement:

When Rei sang it for the little children in the hospital in act 23. So cute! It was the second pgsm act I ever saw. The song totally fits in the series. Keiko can sing well. .

Memorable:

Yes, I think it's memorable. Especially for the Keiko fans. And for me. One of the reasons is that it appeared in the second pgsm act I ever saw. After that acts, I really loved pgsm!

Lyrics:

Take the snowflakes on the wind to the illusory Eden
If I'm here, perhaps I can become accepting
If just a little
There's no such thing as God
But I want to believe in someone
Now still I don't want to grow up
A cherry blossom snows secretly

I love them, I love them! There better than Hoshi Furu Yoake. This is really Keiko's best song. The lyrics are great (especially that there is no such thing as God!), they don't go about nothing (like the Kiari*sailor dream lyrics), they are useful, not useless.

Overall rating:

5 hearts! This is one of the better songs. The lyrics are good, I like the melody, it's a very catchy song, the type of song I love, this is one of my favourites!!!!!!

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone/Mood

Upbeat and catchy. Love the salsa mix in this song. There's a reason why it's my favorite song. :D

Placement

Rei sang this song in Act 23 at the Crowne (LOL) and at the hospital. It was also done (really well might I add) in the Super Live Event. Def. Rei's best character song.

Memorable

Yes sir'e Bob! I know many fans who just LOVE this song and I know a few who *cough* me *cough* sing this song as loudly as they can and scare their pets. :P

Lyrics

Stop, distant rain/
I want to see the night sky/
If I'm here, time will stop/
I want to stay a young girl/

I don't know why but these lyrics just tug at me. I like the entire song lyrics but this little stance is the best. It shows how Rei feels towards her father. She wishes that he were there when her mother passed away and she's waiting for him...even tho she has that "I don't want you near me" type of attitude.

Overall Rating

5 hearts. Best song EVER in PGSM. I love the salsa beat and the lyrics and Keiko just did an excellent job with it.

Elly - Princess Serenity

Tone/Mood

Interesting tone. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it has a Latino influence, but there is definitely something sensual about this song as well. Kitagawa's deep voice really plays off of the somewhat innocent lyrics of this song.

Placement

This song was played in Act 23 in the hospital, and again in Crown Karaoke as a practice run. I'm not sure if I'd sing this song to a bunch of sick kids at a hospital, given the seriousness of the lyrics and the darkness that they imply. Whatever.

Memorable

This is just a classic. This ranks up there with Kirari*Sailor Dream and C'est La Vie. I don't know how this song got so popular, but it did. It definitely has lasting power.

Lyrics

There's no such thing as God
But I want to believe in something
That is what I think
On this cloudy moonlit night
A cherry blossom snows slow down

Perhaps the reason this song is so popular isn't because of it's beat alone. The lyrics in this song are touching, and they are something that most of us athiests/agnostics can relate to. I say this because if you're of Judeo-Christian belief, you have to have already accepted Christ or Moses as your savior. In Japanese culture, there is no "all-powerful" God that everyone worships. Most Japanese are both Shinto and Buddhist, since believing in both religions does not conflict with each other in the context of either religion. Questioning one's faith to either side is rather common in Japan. I just find it interesting that a Shinto priestess, out of anyone in Japan, would question their faith. Rei as a priestess is committed to her spiritual life - why then would she question the existance of a God? The juxtaposition of Rei's character with this questioning makes this song really fascinating - or maybe I'm just looking into it too much:

Two dreams
Touching fingertips
Dancing tears on that spring day
I can't find any reason
Soon they will come to a stop
Can I become strong
Someday?

The imagery in this song is simply stunning. Even in English, the lyrics have an elegance that is reminiscent of none other in the series. This song is truly a Godsend to those of us who love explication of poetry.

Overall Rating

This song definately gets a five. Apart from it being my favorite song in PGSM for face value alone, this song incorporates so many interesting literary elements that highten my intellectualist nerd enjoyment of this tune. Please, if you know anything about explication of lyrics, try giving this song a gander with it - you'll find far more symbolism, imagery, and characterization than most other J-POP songs, let alone the stuff in PGSM.

Frosted_Rain - Nephrite

Tone/Mood

Kinda has a waltz/salsa beat on the introductory part. A kind of song to dance with someone you like. Also relaxing for it's breezy tone for a cool mood.

Placement

Seen in Act 23 on the series and in the Kirari Super Live special. I'ts kinda weird though when Rei sang the song for the first time and Usagi gave comments to it.

Memorable

Kitagawa Keiko and Chisaki Hama (or Rika) performed the song in Kirari Super Live. Nice song number. (one of the many reasons why Rika is better than Ayaka-chan)

Lyrics

Kamisama nante inai
Dakedo dareka shinjitai
Ima wa mada toki wo tomete
Otona ni narenai kara

Kinda freaky to me. Not a thing for people who have strong faith in their religion. Only applies to atheists and likes. (is it me or is it i'm losing my religion...)

Zutto ou wa
Kono fukai mori no mukou
Kitto matte iru
Issho ni aruite kureru hito

Ohh... I like to be that man you're reffering Keiko-chan! But I'll choose Ayaka-chan. (A No.1 fan always choose his No.1 Idol over the rest when the situation arises.)

Overall Rating

(if I give this a bad score, my Keiko-chan obsessed freind, BabyGurl will rip my balls out of me. ain't i'm such a dummy... or whatever you may prefer) 5 hearts for a faith-shaking, poetic, catchy song produced on the PGSM OST. This proves that Keiko is a VERY GOOD SINGER (and a model).

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan

Tone/Mood

AH!!! Another one of my favorites!!! This song has a very spanish feel to it. I can see people do the cha cha to it. It has a sultry feel to it and Keiko's voice has great emotion in the song.

Placement

I believe it is in act 23? Whichever the act is when Rei is considered a singer and sings at a hospital, to boost up her powers! It is a great place for it, because the song does express her feelings. Plus Hama Chisaki and her sing the song together in the live event(wearing wacky 60's like outfits!)

Memorable

This is a very good song, and to me it will be memorible because it is a heart-felt song and it sounds like Keiko puts her whole soul into the song.

Lyrics

The words fit Rei in the song!

There's no such thing as God But I want to believe in something That is what I think On this cloudy moonlit night A cherry blossom snows slow down

I think that describles how she is in the live action really well. Because she is reserved in the beginning, it makes sense.

Can I become strong Someday?

Perfect fit for the epsiode this is sung in.

Overall Rating

Hm...a 4 will do me justice on this song. It's great words and tone makes this song a good one to listen to. Tis why I love it! ^__^

Tuxedo Mask - Kero-chan

Tone/Mood:

An excellent salsa song, I just want to DANCE whenever I hear this song. It is strange how being not a dance song but more like a salsa ballad, it won't matter you'll just want to dance to it.

Placement:

It was first showed in act 23; while practicing in Crown Center and during her act as Mars Reiko-san in the hospital. I think this song was well placed, as the transition of Rei, for learning what she was lacking to awaken her true power.

Memorable:

I have two reasons for remembering this marvelous song. First of them, this song is really catchy and has a Rei and Keiko's feeling in it, the music make me want to dance salsa! Second, one of my best friends sang this song so great in a Karaoke contest of an Anime Expo, that most of the time when I hear this song; I picture her singing to the music.

Lyrics:

"There's no such thing as God
But I want to believe in someone
Now still keep time at a stop
Because I can't grow up"

Definitely the chorus is my favorite part. Being a priestess, it is a contradiction to sing there's no such thing as God, but it is just so perfect. We know that Rei has had a rough life, where her faith has been put up for testing; it would be understandable for her not to believe in a powerful being that'll bring her peace, but it is even more understandable for her to be needing someone to believe and watch over her.

Overall Rating:

Excellent song, excellent music and a powerful message in a salsa toned melody. Definitely a 5 stars song!!!

Jessica - Sailor V

Tone/Mood

The song has a calming tone and a catchy beat to it, making a nice change from all the hyper-cuteness of a lot of the PGSM songs.

Placement

I believe Rei sang this when Minako tricked her into a performance at the hospital. Other than that, I don't remember it being used. The placement then was pretty decent, but I think it could have been used as background music during character development moments for Rei.

Memorable

To me, the song is memorable for the lyrics more than the melody or the voice of Kitagawa Keiko, and perhaps because it's one of the songs from the show that really does fit the character who sings it.

Lyrics

There's no such thing as God
But I want to believe in someone
Now still I don't want to grow up
A cherry blossom snows secretly

I love these lyrics and I think they fit Rei very well. The lyrics have more meaning to me because I personally don't believe in God and I first heard the song when I was at a point where I realised just how old I was and how time seemed to have moved so fast from being a kid. The lyrics still make good sense in English and has lovely imagery.

Overall Rating

Ephie - Zoicite

Tone/Mood

This has a tune that makes me really want to dance with a lot of hip swinging. And that's saying something since I don't dance.

Placement

I think it was Act 23 when she sung to the little sprogletts as Mars Reiko (which is really a nifty handle name, and I can't explain why I think so). It's also on the CDs, which for once wasn't the first time I heard it.

Memorable

This is one of my favorite songs, and one of my friends always requests it when I drive. I just wish I actually would sit down and learn the lyrics so I'd have something else to sing while I straighten fabrics at work. I also appreciate while her voice is definitely alto, she has notes you think would get too high, as I find the problem is in Sweet Little Resistance, but it seems to take a half step below, which adds a fabulous touch since I adore songs with lots of half steps and sharp/flat changes.

Lyrics

The lyrics work really well when she's singing to the children, but for some reason I only see it half fitting Rei's character. Though the one line "There's no such thing as God, but I want to believe in someone" I think can fit no one else but her.

Overall Rating

I can't help but give this song a 5. It is really one of my absolute favorites of the series and I love the episode it airs in from her trying to learn karaoke on her own, to her stage fright and Usagi's usual cheerful confidence.

Sailor Uranus - Nickole

Tone/Mood

(Listens to it) The beat at the beginning is sooo cool! I just love the pop background it has!! :)

Placement

Its on the PGSM CD;s.

Memorable

Heck yea!! The sound of this song is great, I'm sure anyone will remember it for a long time!

Lyrics

Two dreams
Touching fingertips
Dancing tears on that spring day
I can't find any reason
Soon they will come to a stop
Can I become strong
Someday?

These lyrics are very emotional and strong, just like Rei Hino really is! :)

Overall Rating

I will DEFINATLY give this song a five for an overall excellent beat!!!

Ciao - Sailor Pluto

Tone/Mood

It's a very summery song, with a good beat to it. This is my favourite song of the ones that Kitigawa-san has done and I think it really suits her. I really enjoy listening to it and you can almost do a cha-cha to it with the neat little beat it's got going.

Placement

This song is placed in one of the Acts where Minako is in the hospital and scheduled to give a small concert for the children there. She isn't able to do it and so passes it onto her rival, none other than Rei. She did it to teach her a lesson about asking for help, giving help to those who ask it, and to show her that she could actually do something she didn't think she was capable of it. It's a sweet song to sing to the children because it talks about wanting to stay a child and regaining (or keeping) innocence.

Memorable

I really do like this song a lot and whenever I hear it, I think about Kitigawa- san and the character of Hini Rei that she plays in the PGSM series. It's really snappy, with a good tune, a good message and doesn't seem rushed or strained. She seems like she likes this song too.

Lyrics

The lyrics are really sweet and poignant in a way. The search for someone or something to believe in, and wanting to retain a child-like innocence and our childhood memories is something we can all identify with. They fit perfectly within the music, nothing rushed or out of sync.

Overall Rating

I would give this song a 5 personally, one reason being that this is my favourite song of all the ones I have heard so far, and the message hits home. I also like the snappy tune, and altho she was just starting out with singing in the series when this was presented, she's done a great job. The song just suits her and I think about her every time I hear it.

Tobias - Sailor Venus

Tone/Mood

Sakura Fubuki... its tone isn't hyper... active but not hyper... I saw Kitagawa- san perform this in act 23, where Minako has revenge against Rei for following her to the hospital... The song is enjoyable to hear on a continuous basis.

Placement

This song fits well in the act, it was timed well into the story where she awakens her senshi power (along with the infamous helicopter sound pose scene) She sings it so well... plus how serious she looks in Crown Karaoke is funny... "Rei-chan no kao... kuwaii yo. / Rei-chan's face... is scary." This episode also marked the birth of Mars Reiko-san.

Memorable

This song is very memorable to me... I listen to it frequently... have it on numerous cds (both official and mixes) and my MP3 player as well... I just like it so much that I usually put on my playlists so I can hear it. It fits for Rei... even if it is a different song for the live-action Rei... I can totally see the Anime version singing it... Would the song be as popular? Could Tomizawa Michie-san pull it off as well? Who knows... I just like the song... period.

Lyrics

This part is nice...

"Kazahana tsuretette maboroshi no EDEN made Koko de nara
sukoshi dake wa
Sunao ni nareru ka mo ne"
and the part where she says "Kamisama nante inai
dakedo dareka shinjitai".
However the fact that it seems to not make sense to the Rei character... but she wants to believe in someone so that's cool... the lyrics would fit anime Rei I think... all in all, good lyric usage.

Overall Rating

5 out of 5... indefinitely. This being my favorite song over any of the other Pretty Guardian songs. Its catchy and easy to listen for hours and even sing with it... (believe me... I've done it... ^^; )

Sat - Sailor Saturn

Tone

This song has an intoxicating beat. I give it that. Although it goes back to my overwhelming distaste for Keiko's voice that kills any "love" of it. It is a decent song, but just doesn't push any "OOOOOOOH!" from me. I am more of a Ayaka fan.

Placement

She sang to kids at the hospital, which I have to admit was one of the best things I ever saw her character do. It was also one of her first truly emotional moments, but my god was she stiff. And at some points the camera made her look like she was eating the microphone. mmmm drumstick

Memorable

Yeah. Oh yeah. If for nothing else then for the fact I will always see her trying to swallow the microphone and wearing the red heat that seemed just to small for her head. And I am harping about the scene because this song actually kinda makes you remember the scene.

Lyrics

"Can I become strong" This summed up her character at that point and it worked out wonderfully when I got chills later in the ep when she got her powerup. VERY good lyrics for a change.

Overall Rating

5 Hearts. As much as I don't care for Keiko, this song fits her character. It is sang well, and just works. You don't get that much in the world of PGSM songs.

Kaitlin - Kuroki Mio

Tone/Mood

Right from the start, I like this song. The beat is very rhythm-focused and deep. Makes me feel like it's a cross between a rock song and a jazz song. Keiko's vocals really drive the song home. The chorus kicks in and takes you up another level. You just HAVE to love this song.

Placement

Used in the TV show when Mars awakens her power as a senshi. And well used I might add. Made me desperately want to get a CD with this song on it.

Memorable

Very much so. I constantly find myself singing it, even when I haven't listened to the song that day.

Lyrics

The lyrics are great too. Focused on losing faith in something bigger than herself, but wanting to become strong.

Zutto sagasu shiroi tenshi no sugata
Kitto futte kuru
Atarashii watashi kureru hane

Kazahana tsuretette maboroshi no EDEN made
Koko de nara sukoshi dake wa
Sunao ni nareru ka mo ne

Kamisama nante inai
Dakedo dareka shinjitai
Ima wa mada otona ni naritakunai
Sakura fubuki hisoka ni

This is my favorite part of the song. Partially because it contains my name (Hane) and partially because of the way Keiko-san really drives home "Kamisama nante inai"

Overall Rating

This song is a 5. I don't know a single person who doesn't love it.

Lauren - Sailor Mars

Tone/Mood

I Don’t Know Why But The First Time I Heard This Song I Fell In Love With It It’s Just SOOO BEAUTIFUL! I Mean As Alexander Said:
"It brings me a strange feeling, combination of calmness and kind of passion, and when I listen it, I remember Rei and her personality. "Sakura Fubuki" is like Rei - in the beginning, it seems a bit cold and unfriendly, but then it's filled with passion. Kitagawa-san was done a great job singing this song! "
She Truly Has! It’s VERY Upbeat Passionate And CATCHY!

Placement

Rei sang this song in Act 23 at the Crowne and at the hospital. It was also done in the Super Live Event. (My FAVORITE Rei Character Song (LOL)!)

Memorable

Oh Yeah It Is, People LOVE Sakura Fubuki. I Mean You Here It And You Think Of Rei How She Feels. And You Will SO LOVE THE BEAT!

Lyrics

There's no such thing as God
But I want to believe in something
That is what I think
On this cloudy moonlit night
A cherry blossom snows slow down

A SUPER BIG Reason People Fall In Love With Sakura Fubuki Is Because Of The BEAUTIFUL LYRICS (LOL)!

Two dreams
Touching fingertips
Dancing tears on that spring day
I can't find any reason
Soon they will come to a stop
Can I become strong
Someday?

These Lyrics Here Are Also VERY BEAUTIFUL. They Really Make You Think About Them. I REALLY LOVE The Part Where They Go Na, Na, Na, Na And So On!

5 Out Of 5 STARS! This Song To ME Is The Absolutely Best Hino Rei Song We Have EVER Heard IN ANY LANGUAGE

Tone/Mood

The Mood, at first, kind of makes me think, ‘Oh, tiki!’ but I know it isn’t! It has a very >.> sexy beat.

Placement

Only the CDs Oh! And the super-live show .

Memorable

Yes! It’s very memorable! I mean, it’s very pretty! This song REALLY makes me think of Rei Hino/Keiko Kitagawa!

Lyrics

Two dreams
Touching fingertips
Dancing tears on that spring day
I can't find any reason
Soon they will come to a stop
Can I become strong
Someday?

Isn’t that just soooo Rei Hino? I mean, it sounds like she’s talking about the Princess and Prince’s dreams, and then with the end, Rei was always worried about not being strong enough! It’s very . Well written!

Overall Rating

Four Hearts! I’m saving my first Five Hearts for a certain song coming up next month! It’s overall very pretty, and very much connects to Rei. It’s my favorite ‘Rei’ song!!

Joy Azama - Kunzite

Tone/Mood

The first time I heard this song, I immediately loved it, which is on Act 23. The Spanish beat definitely has a great impact to the tone/melody of this song, which is perfect.

Placement

Act 23 and Kirari Super Live Event.

Memorable

Definitely a memorable song! Nice beat, nice melody, nice vocals, nice everything. A good Mars character song! ^_^

Lyrics

The lyrics are wonderful, like a poem, and it reflects Rei's personality. She's being aware of her surroundings, every senses heightened, just like any other priestess who masters her spiritual skills. However the following lines got me confused:

"There's no such thing as God
But I want to believe in something"

I thought priestesses are highly spiritual people, and I believe that they have to summon the gods or something (just like in the anime Fushigi Yuugi, wherein the priestess Miaka have to summon the Suzaku god)...? Anyways, what do I know about the Japanese culture? Perhaps I'm wrong especially when my proof is not evidenced-based such as an anime (don't have time to research books ^_^). Does not matter though, the tone is perfect and vocals are great. However, that line did disturb me a little bit because I'm a religious person. I just don't mind the meaning especially when Keiko delivered that line perfectly, and I sang along with her, and also caught myself singing it oftentimes.

Overall Rating:

4 out of 5 hearts. Loved the song, just that one line in the lyrics though.

Sebi - Jedite

Tone/Mood

Uhhhhh, hard to say. It certainly sounds highly emotional, but listening to it without knowning the meaning of the lyrics it's kinda hard to place.

Placement

Once in a Hospital Seen and another at a place called Crown Karaoke

Memorable

I know I've heard this tune somwhere before its really familiar. That aside, it is certaily very memorable not exactly in a good way though.

Lyrics

Coherent, and rather dark, who the heck would sing a song like this at a hospital? And isn't Rei a Shinto priestess? These are rather morbid words for one such as her to sing. Disturbing...

Overall Rating

Laurana - Princess Sailor Moon

Tone/Mood

Oh my goodness I absolutely love this song. The beat just makes me think of dancing with Johnny! Isn't this the beat to some sort of Spanish dance, or something along that line? I love this beat! This is definitely Keiko's best song, and her voice is so thrilling during the course of this song. I feel so overwhelmed with a need to smile when I listen to this song. There is something about this song that inspires happiness from the very depths of my being. I just adore the happiness it brings to me!

Placement

I have not seen the episode that this song was featured in, Act 23, but I know that singing this to children in a hospital was not a smart choice. If I were a sick child and heard this song I would be sad that I could not experience the feeling of dancing to the beat. Not to mention this song may be just a little too upbeat and happy for a hospital. Of course singing it at the Crowne was probably a better placement for it.

Memorable

This song is so memorable just because of the beat, and the feelings it invokes inside of you. I remember when I visited Johnny he was listening to the Dear My Friend cd and mentioned that he loved this song. I of course could not place the name of the song to the song itself so he played it for me, and he just looked so happy listening to it. It I very memorable to me just because of the look on Johnny's face and his eyes, as he played this song, was just awe inspiring. Just hearing this song reminds me of that day, and the smile it brought to his face!

Lyrics

I must admit these are one of the most amazing set of lyrics in all of the shows songs. The lyrics are just filled with vivid imagery, and it makes the song all the more astonishing. I adore the lyrics to this song because they fit the beat of the song. *^-^*

Two dreams
Touching fingertips
Dancing tears on that spring day
I can't find any reason
Soon they will come to a stop
Can I become strong
Someday?

I think these lyrics are just chalk full of imagery, and just really touching. How can someone not be inspired to think of love and happiness? These lyrics have such breathtaking imagery that I cannot get over!

Overall Rating

5/5 I give this song a five out of five just because of the beauty and majesty it evokes from within my soul. Not to mention this is Keiko's best song and I love the beat. The imagery in this song is astoundingly gorgeous! This song definitely deserves is memories that it gave me!

Kuroki Mio - Kara

TONE/MOOD:

Keiko puts so much feeling into this one, and the orchestration supports every bit of it. It maintains a consistent feeling throughout, although there are ebbs and flows in the emotion of it (in a good way). This is, quite honestly, one of the best songs written for the series, just in the range allowed both in the music and in Keiko's voice.

PLACEMENT:

Hino Rei's character single, as well as the show 'Mars Reiko' put on at the hospital.

MEMORABLE:

Very. There's a simplicity to the tune that makes it hummable, and yet the sound of it is intricate enough that it doesn't get boring.

LYRICS:

I was amazed to hear a miko going on about there not being a God, but I think that really adds to it. This is a song of desperation, a cry for help, a desire to understand things or else not grow up at all.

There's no such thing as God
But I want to believe in someone
Now still keep time at a stop
Because I can't grow up

To me, this is more of a mask for her real feelings - she wants to be ABLE to grow up, but only if she can do it correctly.

OVERALL:

5 out of 5 hearts. I don't think a PGSM fan is allowed to dislike this song, but I honestly like it for its own merits. It's one that stays with me quite a bit, and the writers chose an excellent debut song for 'Mars Reiko.'

Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

Tone/Mood:

I absolutely love the piano in the intro. This song is so catchy! There’s a sort of salsa-ish edge to it, which is awesome. I would never think of a tune quite like this to suit Hino Rei, but it works perfectly.

Placement:

On Rei’s single, and it’s used in one of the acts. I don’t remember which. ^^;

Memorable:

Oh yeah. You’d be hard pressed to find a PGSM fan that doesn’t know about this song.

Lyrics:

Grasping the cool flower petals tightly
I thought I saw a break in the clouds
Going on forever
Two dreams
Touching fingertips
Dancing tears on that spring day
I can’t find any reason
Soon they will come to a stop
Can I become strong someday?

Wow, what wonderful imagery. I love the last line especially. The lyrics are just absolutely beautiful and are perfect for Rei.

Rating:

Setting aside the fact that Rei is my favorite character and that I am a crazy Keiko fangirl, this song absolutely deserves the five-star rating.
