Shoelace

Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

TONE/MOOD:

Eh, it’s another slow song. I don’t know exactly what it is, but something about this song drags more than in the previous three. I do like the bongos, though.

PLACEMENT:

N/A

MEMBORABLE:

Not especially.

LYRICS:

Nowhere do I see anything about a shoelace.

It's different from what I thought about falling in love
Chocolates and letters specially made for me

I like these two lines, but the rest is mediocre.

OVERALL:

3 out of 5.

Kuroki Mio - Kara

TONE/MOOD:

This has the pacing that 'Hoshitachi He' SHOULD have had. It achieves the same sort of emotion without dragging so much. This whole selection for the month has made good use of backing vocals, and this is no exception. They're strong, but not oppressive, and they have a nice flowing sound to them.

PLACEMENT:

N/A

MEMORABLE:

Fairly, but doesn't stand out there strongly.

LYRICS:

Everyone knows I'm a sucker for lyrics I can relate to.

I'm searching for a way to get at you
This thought hasn't made me hate you yet

This song is sad, and unlike a lot of the things this month, there's no duality to it. It has no problem admitting it's just plain sad.

OVERALL:

3 out of 5 hearts. Nice, but not terribly memorable.

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

TONE/MOOD:

*Suckerforpianopiecesyetagain* Gosh-dang-darnit! Well, it was a good song. I don't care for the little drums but whatever. The song quickly picks up if you can even call it upbeat. I really don't know what to say to describe this song. Hmm...that's a first.

PLACEMENT:

N/A

MEMORABLE:

Ah, no.

LYRICS:

"I can count how many times we've been separated Teach me how to become obidient I'm searching for a way to get at you This thought hasn't made me hate you yet"

Only one word can describe this: Huh?

OVERALL:

2/5! This song is lacking quite a lot. I don't care for the beat-even with the piano bits. The song is just too boring for my taste.

Sailor Pluto - Sailorasteroid

Mood:

Depressing, reminiscent of the Morrissey style of new wave. There's a reason that style died quickly.

Placment:

Why don't they pre-lace the shoelaces any more? Lazy slugs.

Memorable:

Yeah, try me when I wake up. If the lyrics weren't boring enough, there's a long piano fade for you.

Lyrics:

"It would be nice if it continued to storm outside for just a little longer." Yes, because something exciting would happen.

Overall:

Sae, Moeco, please trade songs. Or voices. One.

Sailor Mercury - Alexander

TONE/MOOD:

Slow song... In the begining it sounds kind of boring, but the the mood speeds-up and "Shoelace" becomes a nice peace. I like it.

PLACEMENT:

-

MEMORABLE:

Yes, I especially the chorus. *sings*

LYRICS:

Well I am going to pick my favourite part again.

"When will these people stop introducing me to their suns
I feel like I'm always doing the same thing
Riding on my heart as I search for an umbrella there
I just don't want to feel pain anymore"

The other part is also good.

OVERALL:

4/5 I'm rating this song with four hearts because I like the chorus beat.

Dark Sailor Mercury - Ilse

Tone/Mood

It starts with a piano in it. This song is more relaxed then the other songs. It’s really a song to dream away. I like the melody, but sometimes it’s a bit one-tone, if you get what I mean.

Placement

On Wing

Memorable

No, not really, but the song is still nice!

Lyrics

The seasons outside listen to the sound of your voice as you sing your song
It would be nice if it continued to storm outside for just a little longer

When will these people stop introducing me to their suns
I feel like I'm always doing the same thing
Riding on my heart as I search for an umbrella there
I just don't want to feel pain anymore

It's different from what I thought about falling in love
Chocolates and letters specially made for me

I can count how many times we've been separated
Teach me how to become obidient
I'm searching for a way to get at you
This thought hasn't made me hate you yet

Why did they called this song shoelace? I don’t get it! -.-;;

Overall rating

4 hearts. The title makes no sense to me, but it’s very different from the songs I have heard from sae from now on.

Sailor Saturn - Miri-chan

Tone/Mood

It starts out sounding so sad (reminded me of Lia's songs) I picture a person standing in the middle of a field of dead grass as the sun sets in the background... a song that conveys giving up and failure.

Placement

On Wing

Memorable

Very! Chorus was awesome, as with all of Sae's songs.

Lyrics

I didn't like the lyrics. It was another breakup song, and I don't like breakup songs.

Overall rating

5 out of 5 hearts, although the lyrics almost made me give it a four
