Tsuki Hi - Moonlight

On Yoshito Endo's website, the .mp3 of this song was named 'Moonlight Web'. The word for 'web' in Japanese is Shichou. I got confused and wrote the title as being 'Moonlight Web' -> Tsuki Hi Shichou. However, Yoshito's actual intention for putting the word 'web' at the end of 'moonlight' was to mean that it was on the internet -> his WEBsite. So moonlightweb.mp3 turns into just moonlight. I noticed that glitch after everything was translated and images were made (I noticed that a lot of his songs ended in web, and then I thought "Hey...you know...maybe he means interweb!") so it's just staying there. Sorry about that! The name of this song is just "Moonlight" -> Tsuki Hi.

Sailor Mercury - Topaz

Tone/Mood

OMG this sound and the instruments. At first its a tad weird but once the music kicks in. The music gives this wonderful movie song feel to it and the rif. Needless to say this the sounds is perfect

i would say kinda yes. the music i could just listen to allday. but the singing. Bah its horrible

Lyrics

The words just touch my heart. How they play with each other. They give you such feeling to read them.

"Fresh colors swirl around
Memories of who I am aren't erased
Nice meanings get dark
You are forever, forever, not forgotten"

Overall Rating

My head is gonna go boom soon. I love the music and the words and soul touching but the GOD DAMN SINGING!(sorry for lang.) but come on how can you like his voice. It sooooooo off key and just not sound pleasant. sorry to those that like him but, come on

a one

Kuroki Mio - Kara

TONE/MOOD:

Taking it back down a notch. I really like the piano intro on this one. It's nice to hear that Endo isn't going to try to do nothing but thrash (as much as I like electric guitar). This one made me think a bit of Gackt, actually - it's probably the back chorus. It also had sort of an anime ED sound to it.

PLACEMENT:

N/A

MEMORABLE:

Definitely. Everything clicks here. Endo's voice, the music, the lyrics. All good.

LYRICS:

And here, I finally like some.

The world is going to end today
To come across a person I love
Later I'll find it, however,
I myself will find what I'm looking for

OVERALL:

5 out of 5. Perfect score for an awesome song.

Dark Sailor Mercury - Ilse

Tone/Mood:

This is really Yoshito's month isn't it? First it starts with piano music. Very calm, you hear a door going open, and then POOF! It's a rocksong! The intro is very long, that's too bad, because I wanted to hear more of the lyrics.

Placement:

Memorable:

Stupid sample's, (not because of Elly) It's just. Whatever. For now it's memorable

Lyrics:

Emptiness falls
Tonight we'll meet around the spirits

There is despair inside my dreams, my wish is for no more pain
Fate is always the contradiction of what I attempt to become

The world is going to end today
To come across a person I love
Later I'll find it, however,
I myself will find what I'm looking for

I think the song has something, horror thingy inside. May be because of that door Just ignore me, because I'm nuts.

Overall rating:

5, because of the horror thingy and the piano and that rock part!

Sailor Uranus - G.E. Artemis

Tone/Mood:

Woah. It’s really, really dark sounding, and I love it. Some piano in the intro that fits well. There’s a creepy sound effect of an opening door that makes you think of ghosts or demons or something similar.

Placement:

Cosmos Explosion, as always.

Memorable:

More so than Route 99 and Aki Sakura Cosmos. I think the creepy tone to it makes it more original.

Lyrics:

The lyrics are awesome, and they suit the music.

There is despair inside my dreams, my wish is for no more pain
Fate is always the contradiction of what I attempt to become

I can totally, totally relate to this, and that’s one of the reasons why I love it. He’s trying to do something, but no matter how hard he works, things always turn out in a way he didn’t intend.

All is empty
You secretly wish on a star tonight

There’s nothing left. It’s like one last, desperate hope that things will get better. It’s really depressing.

Rating:

I tend to go for the darker stuff. Five.

Sailor Neptune - Ruth

Tone/Mood

We start off with the piano then the bass comes in with a 'woooooooo' singing. Nicely done and it's much better then Route 99. I can see myself listening to this song over and over. The singing is so so but not annoying. Good to hear a difference in tone!

Memorable

Sort of. Only if I could buy his stuff and listen to it. ;_;

Lyrics

Nope

Overall Rating

3 out of 5. Better but not quite there. Keep trying Endo-tachi!

Sailor V - Jessica

Tone/Mood

The tone together with the lyrics appears to be wistful, perhaps singing of regret, wanting things just out of reach. The mood seems quite depressing, but I think that's just the key the song is sung in which notes are held as opposed to others.

Placement

None in PGSM

Memorable

I only find this song memorable for the piano undertones and unfortunately find it too like much of the music that's flooding the rock music charts at the moment. (at least in the UK)

Lyrics

The world is going to end today
To come across a person I love
Later I'll find it, however,
I myself will find what I'm looking for

These lines could be taken as quite depressing, but I find them to be positive, taking control and moving on, despite what's going on around you.

Overall Rating

4/5

Sailor Saturn - Miri-chan

Tone/Mood

Before I played the mp3, I prayed that this would not be a screaming, loud, rock song. You could imagine my relief when I finally heard the song. I love the almost ethereal feeling to the opening. Once the full instrumentals come in, it bears a sensation of almost... angsty and suicidal. Don't ask me why it sounds that way, it just does.

Placement

On Yoshido Endo's album, Cosmos Explosion.

Memorable

I didn't hear much of the song, so it's really hard to say. The only thing that stayed in my mind after listening to it several times were the words "sora ga".

Lyrics

As with Aki Sakura Cosmos, the lyrics are beautiful, but they don't fit the type of music that's accompanying them. However, my most favourite line would be "You are forever, forever not forgotten". I reminds me of another song that I adore, whose last line is "I will not forget". For some reason, lyrics about not forgetting are very appealing to me. It bestows a sense of hope.

Overall Rating

3 out of 5. Better than Aki Sakura Cosmos and Route 99, but still not the best of music to me.

Princess Sailor Moon - Kaitlin

Tone/Mood

I love the way this is starting. I need to hear him with a piano. This song seems inspiring and has a great beat. I'm sad that the song ends before I get a chance to experience the chorus actually.

Placement

Endo's CD

Memorable

Somewhat more than the previous 2 I listened to, but not moreso than Hakana Kimono

Lyrics

I think that (from what I could hear) this one part stands out.

"There is despair inside my dreams, my wish is for no more pain
Fate is always the contradiction of what I attempt to become"

It's a common sentiment and seems quite "right" if that makes sense?

Overall Rating

4 - I wish I could hear more!

Princess Serenity - Elly

Tone/Mood

The piano and the slow moving pace of this ballad really attracts me. I like these kinds of songs, the ones with the pretty openings with classical and modern music combined. The vocals also really add to the appeal of this song.

Placement

COSMOS EXPLOSION by Amber Dust (band that Yoshito Endo is lead vocalist and pianist for)

Memorable

Kind of. I remember it because I like it a lot, but I don't know if anyone else does.

Lyrics

To soar over things like a feather
I wish for a place to be where
You are needing, needing things
You are forever, forever not forgotten

I'm not really sure what this song is *about*, but the lyrics are definitely enchanting. I want to hear the entire song! I wonder if it is as good as what I've heard so far.

Overall Rating

I like it a lot, but I want to hear more. It stops just as the chorus begins, so it only gets a four for now. Hopefully it'll get a higher score when we re-review.

Sailor Luna - Emo-chan

Tone/Mood

This song seems a little more sad than his other songs. The piano opening is a real nice sound, and when it opens up to the guitar and other instruments it becomes a more open-ended song.

Placement

Memorible

This is another one of his songs that I really like, because of the mix of instruments and voice, and the piano. Gotta love the piano.

Lyrics

There is despair inside my dreams, my wish is for no more pain Fate is always the contradiction of what I attempt to become The world is going to end today To come across a person I love Later I'll find it, however, I myself will find what I'm looking for

I Really love his words in this song. You can feel pain from them and a sense of loss. Plus in some verses you can sense happiness and tolerance of whatever is happening. It's great.

Fresh colors swirl around Memories of who I am aren't erased Nice meanings get dark You are forever, forever, not forgotten

Overall Rating

A 5 all the way, baby! He is really good song and I like it very much!

Tuxedo Mask - Kero-chan

Tone/Mood:

I love the beginning of the song, it is so mysterious and angst. Then, the powerful guitar begins, after that, Yoshito's voice. I like this song; it is like a rock ballad with some hard-core moments. The sound of the door opening was a cool thing to put with the song; it helps to create the mysterious aura hehe.

Placement:

Yoshito's band CD: Cosmos Explosion.

Memorable:

Somehow yeah, I like Endo's voice in this song, and the music is really good. It sounds like an anime opening (or ending); I can think of some animes like Lain, or other with dark plots, for having this song as an opening.

Lyrics:

Wow! The entire song has excellent lyrics; I think (as for lyrics) this is my favorite song of the month! I like this part a lot too

Fresh colors swirl around
Memories of who I am aren't erased
Nice meanings get dark
You are forever, forever, not forgotten

Overall Rating:

Excellent song; after Hakana Kimono, this is my favorite song of the month. Nice one! Endo-san! 5 Stars!

Sailor Pluto - Sailorasteroid

Mood:

A little scary, like Halloween songs, or Thriller maybe. Dark might be the correct word. If you were doing this live in a show, you'd have the guys turn down the house lights.

Placement:

That's too hard!

Memorable:

Not so much. Maybe if we had the whole thing, but with this abbreviated version, it seems to fizzle out as soon as it gets going.

Lyrics:

They seem a little Goth-"There is despair inside my dreams, my wish is for no more pain." You know, the kind of dark poetry that young depressed girls like to write and guys like me pretend to understand in order to get in with them (Hi Chrissy!).

Overall:

Without making too sweeping a generalization, I think that Endo is best when he's either rocking out hard or in serious mood mode. Anything in the middle is less effective. Three.

Nephrite - Frosted_Rain

Tone/Mood

Mmmm... the blend of rock music with the mellow harmony of the enigmatic piano. What a good combination for a JROCK!!! Though, it's a sad rock (or a ballad).

Placement

Endo-san's CD (probably on some ending song of a future anime)

Memorable

Some ballad songs like Nakushita Kotoba by No Regret Life and Ima Made Nando Mo from Mass Missile(from the anime, Naruto). JROCK ballad songs goes neat for endings. ^^

Lyrics

Fresh colors swirl around
Memories of who I am aren't erased
Nice meanings get dark
You are forever, forever, not forgotten

Sad, soo sad... sadness... samishii... (V_V) full of sadness... That's what this song it's all about. Sadness expressed in rock.

Overall Rating

Another masterpiece! Endo-san's band really rocks (sorry again, ladies). Probably better... maybe best song in his album. 5 hearts a go go! Maybe you can go with the likes of L~Arc~En~Ciel, Orange Range and other JROCK bands. GO AMBER DUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Queen Beryl - Molly

Tone/Mood

From the intro on the song, it seems to be a sort of sad song, maybe a song about a lost love... or something along those lines...

Memorable

I would call this song memorable. Mostly for the repetition in the word emptiness. It reminds me of past times in my life, and songs I can relate to stick more redily in my mind than most others.

Lyrics

I love the lyrics for this. It creates a feeling of hopelessness, and lost love. My favourite part of the lyrics is:

The world is going to end today
To come across a person I love
Later I'll find it, however,
I myself will find what I'm looking for

I really like that part, because most people can relate to feeling that way at one point or another.

I give this sone a 5 out of 5 since it is a theme that most can relate too, has good vocals, and pretty music.
