Elly's Review of Solar Miracle Make-Up

Tone/Mood: This song is so energetic! It also has a sense of urgency which I really like.

Placement: I'm at a loss for words here, because I've only heard the song as part of a CD and not during a musical...yet.

Memorable: Ehh. I really don't think so. When this song comes on I either change it or use it as white noise in the background of my daily activities.

Lyrics:

Sailor beauty
In the solar system invinsible if assembled together
Solar Miracle Make Up

This is pretty much just a repeat of the general message of the Sailormoon songs, except that in this case it comes off as trite and boring.

Overall Rating:

Two and a half. I can't say I'm a big fan.

Iron Mouse reviews Solar Miracle Make-Up

Tone/Mood ~This is an upbeat song with a lot of quirky sound effects in it. It was created to sound like you were flying through the galaxy.

Placement ~This is usually right after the senshi henshin and are about to battle the enemy. I believe it has been sung during an actual battle sequence. Since it is a battle song, it fits perfectly where it has been placed.

Memorable ~It is memorable to me but not in a good way. I always associate it with flying senshi. It seemed during the first stage someone had to fly during this song. Unfortunately, it is most memorable because of Sailor Neptune landing on her butt during S.

Lyrics

In the solar system invinsible if assembled together This line just screams that the senshi are extremely powerful, especially if all are fighting as one.

Other than that line, the lyrics are a bunch of words about astronomy stuck together with actions the senshi do.

Overall Rating

3 hearts Since this song is cheesy and makes me think of senshi toppling over I cannot give it a higher rating.

Miri's review of Solar Miracle Make-Up

Tone/Mood: I for one do not understand the amount of dislike garnered towards this song. It's upbeat, though not epic like La Moon or La Soldier, and seems to be very fitting as a "come on girls, let's do this!" type of song. Whenever I hear it, I feel riled up enough to sing along, feeling as if I'm really part of something great, haha. Unfortunately, all the group singing in the song seems to detract from it. Perhaps if there were more duets instead of the entire group singing straight through, it would have more of an impact.

Placement: Standard pre-battle song in Myu, not much to say here. Wouldn't really have been appropriate in BSSM, although I could see it used in PGSM. Ah well, either way, it's fitting for where it's placed!

Memorable: It's a very short song, which makes it quite easy to memorize and sing. The most memorable line, of course, would be the refrain of "Solar miracle, make up!" (hence the title) It's also a very easy song to identify, I suppose. Whenever I hear Usagi sing out that first "GARASU no ringu!", I immediately, almost subconsciously, prepare myself for the moment where I can belt out with the other senshi that call of "Solar miracle make up!"

Lyrics:

In a flash of lightning it becomes a staircase
The sailor soldiers will take to the sky
We'll perform in the universe's ocean
Moon story spectacle

I absolutely -love- the lyrics to this song. There's a lot of Engrish usage in it, but it seems to almost enhance the sharpness of the song. Lots of lush imagery that just brings to mind pretty lights and shiny attacks.

Overall rating:

It was my first Myu song ever, actually, so how can I give it less than a 4? Hehe. Falls slightly short of a 5 because it's really not that special compared to a few other Myu songs that certainly outshine it in the "battle songs" category. La Moon, anyone?

Emochan's Review of Solar Miracle Make Up

Tone: Very upbeat, but not one of my overall favorites from the Sera Myu songs. The voices don’t seem to be all in tune when I hear it, and it bothers me at times. But the sound effects do make it an interesting listen.

Placement: It sounds perfect for a “let’s get them!” type of scene. I haven’t seen it performed so I can’t say if it works well or not.

Memorable: Not to me personally. I don’t care for it too much. It seems too similar to other songs I’ve hear from Sera Myu. Nothing really sticks out from it to me.

Lyrics:

Maybe it’s just me, but the lyrics seem a little weird.

Dead in a wasteland, these dinosaur bones
Fossils and flowers can be restored to life
Revolving to the contrary, it's time
Because I want to see the Sailor soldiers

It seems strange to me that they would sing about dinosaur and fossils when the song seems more like a song about the solar system and space. The words seem right with the beat of the song, but the context seems a little off to me.

Overall Rating:

2.5 stars from me. I like the upbeat tone and the sound effects used, but the song doesn;t seem too special in the big picture to me.

Ilse's review of Solar Miracle Make-Up

Tone/Mood: O..K..... I don't really like this song... The melody is a bit one tone, not really surprising if you listen to the music. I think I'm in the wrong age to really like this... It's 2008 right now, not the 90's. I was able to like La Soldier, because, in fact I am able to appreciate techno. But this song... No, unfortunately not. It sounds a bit like a low-budget song... Too electrical/ keyboard...

Placement: In the Sera Myu musicals. May be I should hear the song with a clip.

Memorable: No, I'm sorry this one not. I've only heard it once now, and I think it's a bit annoying. Let's hope the lyrics are memorable.

Lyrics: A glass ring The galacy faces defeat
Instead of the stars, let's go ourselves
In a flash of lightning it becomes a staircase
The sailor soldiers will take to the sky

Woops, now I get an image of Sailor senshi being launched like rockets!

Dead in a wasteland, these dinosaur bones
Fossils and flowers can be restored to life
Revolving to the contrary, it's time
Because I want to see the Sailor soldiers

I like this one better, I think it kind of describes the view of Pluto, since she's the keeper of the time-gate and is able to travel through time. Yes, I like this mini pluto tribute.

Overall Rating:

*Hides her head from flying tomatoes being thrown* I'm sorry, I can't give it more than this! The extra half is purely for the couplet involving time. Too bad, they should've done lesser sound effects, they are kind of corny.

Nickoles Review of Solar Miracle Make-Up

Tone/Mood: Well now, the sort of eighties vibe that comes from this song isn't all that bad, it kinda makes you want to get up and dance along with the song, especially if you are watching the actresses on Sera Myu dancing to the song with their vibrant costumes. Solar Miracle Make-Up has a pretty "epic" mood to it, so it basically sounds important.

Placement: Hm...all I can really say is they did okay placing it within many of the Sera Myu plays. Nothing more too it than that.

Memorable: Not really so much a memorable song. Why? It's way too short of a song to care about too much, and there are far better ones out there to have memorized in you're head.

Lyrics:
The order in the solar system revolts
The heroine and hero of the constellations will change
To the Big Dipper, to Virgo, go!
Shine for the sailor soldiers

I'm not sure why exactly, but this part of the song sounds strange if you read the lyrics, and it just seemed to catch my interest. The main song lyrics are kind of boring and pretty much what you'd expect from a song of the Senshi, also, it's short and mainly consists of them all shouting "Solar Miracle Make-Up!" which does get annoying after a while.

Overall Rating:

Not one of the best songs from Sera Myu, it's main downfall is that it's too short, too repetitive, and just not  much of a flavor to it. Still though, it deserves a three due to a semi-catchy beat to it.

Sakura's Review of Solar Miracle Make-Up

Mood/Tone:  It's very energetic, making you want to get up and dance to it. The little sound effects make the song interesting to listen to.

Placement:  Sera Myu musicals. I don't think I can picture this anywhere else. It may be suitable for BSSM Sailor Stars Series, but not so much for PGSM.

Memorable: I only watch few clips from Sera Myu, so its hard to find this song memorable.

Lyrics:  After reading they lyrics, I get this mental image of Senshis fighting across the galaxy in flashy fukus and attacks.

Overall Rating:

I give this song a 3. Love the energy of the song, but its too short and the chorus gets annoying after awhile.

Jess' Review of Solar Miracle Make-Up

Tone/Mood: It’s fast-paced and has the dance beat required to fit where it’s placed, along with convenient beats to emphasise particular moments. Whereas it’s upbeat, it can’t be described to be as perky as some of the other myu songs. It has a different energy and the specific sections for certain actions almost rule it out as a song to spontaneously break into.

Placement: It’s generally used pre-battle or as a battle song. It really only works where they’ve placed it, and, though it’s upbeat, it wouldn’t do just as a filler song. It does grab your attention and basically state that the big battle is coming up/going on.

Memorable: I only find it particularly memorable because a video clip of this song being performed was the first clip I ever saw of the musicals. It’s short, snappy and relatively easy to memorise, but because it’s so short and is generally quite repetitive in rhythm, it’s also rather easy to forget.

Lyrics:

Sailor Beauty,

in the solar system invincible if assembled together,

solar miracle make-up

I do like those lyrics in particular, but I find the melody they're set to insanely irritating. It makes them sound rather stupid.
Overall Rating:

heartheartheart

ephie reviews Solar Miracle Make-Up

tone/mood: Lots of shouting and usually the two sides have some sort of dance off type show before Sailor Moon will use ultimate powers of awesome. Since it's from a myu, I can't help but picture bouncing shoulders and lots of slow arm waving to this song.

placement:
Basically this is played usually right before Sailor Moon decides to lay the smack on someone, as in a "I'm really going to do it this time...I'm totally serious...okay here it comes..." kind of thing. Generally just building up the so called suspense.

memorable:
Well, to be honest, until I went digging for it, I had forgotten about it. I don't listen to my myu soundtracks as often as I used to, and this just wasn't a song that completely stuck in my mind. I do know and remember it now, but to have me think it up on the spot might have not happened. Especially since the song only comes on soundtracks 2 and 7, ones which I usually don't listen to, even though 2 has one of my favorites in there. Also turns out to be in 8, but I don't have that soundtrack.

lyrics:
The whole part about dinosaurs and dead flowers coming back to life because the soldiers wish it to be so is a little odd for me, but i think it's pretty good otherwise. Basically, you lose because we said so and we've got the power.

overall rating:

Not a bad song, just not the best.

Aruba's Review of Solar Miracle Make-Up

Tone/Mood: Sounds much like "La Soldier", but instead of feeling the power that comes with "La Soldier", I feel the "cheesy-ness" that came with this song when I first watched it. Anza's voice is great for this song, but this song is basically a copy of "La Soldier". Now, you might be thinking if it's like "La Soldier" I'd like this kind of song right? Wrong. There are differences with "La Soldier" that are not present with "Solar Miracle Make-up" such as the power, and the feel for the musicals. It's also pretty repetitive. The beat is nice, and it's pretty energetic, but, that's almost pretty much it for me.

Placement: Used as an "end-of battle" song in Gaiden, which I honestly did not see the point of it. It should've been used IN battle, not when it's haulted or over.

Memorable: Okay, yes it is, but not in a good way. The thing I will ALWAYS remember hearing this song is the chessy wire-flying done with the Senshi, and how tthe wires almost crossed together, and how the venus was fakely smiling with her HORRIBLE wig etc.

Lyrics:

Sailor beauty
In the solar system invinsible if assembled together
Solar Miracle Make Up

I'm sorry, but, what?

Overall Rating:

2, I'm very sorry to those who like it, but there are a lot of problems that I feel when this song comes on. I would've given this a one if it wasn't for the beat and Anza's voice.
