Iron Mouse reviews Tuxedo Mirage
Tone/Mood:
Tuxedo Mirage is a slow, sweet ballad that Sailor Moon sings to her true love. It is absolutely beautiful and I can never turn it off at the end of an episode.
Placement:
This is the end theme for the S season. I think it fits perfectly because Sailor Moon has to search within herself for so many reasons during the season and this is her outlet for expression. Moon must deal with the fact there are new Senshi that may not fight along side her and who want to kill a child. At the end of the day Sailor Moon not only wants the world to be safe and at peace but she wishes the same for her friends. Tuxedo Mirage sounds like she is dreaming of that.
Memorable:
The music box sound with the Peach Hips singing is wonderfully memorable. Since it is the ending theme of every episode in the S series, people watching the show are exposed to it often. It is my favorite of all the closing themes. Combine the haunting melody with the anime of a Silver Millennium music box and you simply cannot get this song out of your head.
Lyrics:
I always think of a young girl picturing her dream man, since Moon has her Tux she only needs think of him.
"Even if these fireworks turn into stars
Even if our love disappears into darkness
I beg you, please don't stop the kisses"
She knows that they are destined to be together in every lifetime but sometimes has doubts. Usagi sings about her need to be held, how it comforts her and she never wants Mamoru's kisses to stop.
"This is the love my heart found in the galaxy"
A destined love. . .
"I want to be wrapped in your velvet gaze
This is the love my heart pledged to the galaxy
Gently hold me close in a storm of flower petals
Never, never, disappear
Tuxedo mirage"
This section really allows you to hear the longing in a young teen's voice. At times she cannot believe her love is real and is afraid he is only a mirage.
Overall Rating:
5 Hearts
I really do love this song, a beautiful melody with lovely voices makes for a wonderful ending theme.
