How did you guys learn about Kawabe Chieko? As Americans, she must have been pretty hard to find out about, right?

All three of us became Kawabe Chieko fans shortly after watching her performance on a show called Pretty Guardian Sailormoon. Well, actually, I think Ruth might have been a Kawabe Chieko fan even before then, when she played Sailor Mercury on the musical series, Sera Myu. Since then, we've been fans of Kawabe Chieko's music after hearing her first single.

Who translates all this stuff? It must be a lot of hard work!

I translate it! My name is Elly and I'm the head translator for this site. All of the translations (which is about, I'd say, 60% or more of the written materials you'll find here) are done by me, and me alone ^ ^; So if you have a question about the way I've translated or romanized something, I'm the person to come to. And before you ask, NO, I will not share my translations with you and let you distribute them on your site. Go learn Japanese if you want to distribute Japanese translations, it's not that difficult of a language to pick up.

Why do you romanize Kawabe Chieko's name with a "k" instead of a "c", like on other websites?

Well, because romanizing her first name with a "c" isn't correct. Elly, our translator (and the one writing this paragraph!) is a rampant freak about using Wapuro romanization in everything she translates. It is the most modern and efficient way of romanizing Japanese syllables to date, and it is used in most text books for English-speaking students in America learning Japanese, including the widely-used Genki series, which both Elly and Molly were taught from in high school. Wapuro romanization is the most common form of romanization that you will find both on the internet and in text books, so we use it as well. Now, if you're a rampant Japanese-writing freak who notices these things (like Elly ^ ^) then you'll notice that the character used in the last part of Chieko is "ko" - meaning child. No one ever romanizes the kanji alone as being "co" - so why would they start with Kawabe's first name with a "co" romanization for the "ko" kanji?

It seems to be a trend for Japanese idols to romanize their names as "co" where it should be "ko". This is most likely due to the fact that sounding "English" is a cool thing, and using "c"'s where the Japanese would normally use "k"'s would sound more western than using the proper romanization. Other idols like Matsushita Moeko romanize with a "c" at the end, and now Kawabe Chieko seems to too. However, just because her manager thinks it'll make her fit in and look cool, doesn't mean that we're about to spell her name incorrectly for the sake of some fad.

Where do you get all of your media from?

Unless otherwise noted, Ruth managed to get all the video clips you download. Some of the songs came from me as well but most of them were downloaded by Elly from either BT's or three-lights.net. ^_^

May I use the clips on my site?

I won't mind IF and only if you upload the clips to your own space AND give credit where due. All the PVs minus "Candy Baby" were ripped from the DVDs that came with the singles/album. Please don't claim our hard work as your own as it's really rude.

I don't have any 'space' to upload to, so I don't see the harm in direct linking

Ahahahahahhahaha! Do you really think we would allow such behaviour? If we saw this happening, we would get your "site" pulled for breaking every hosting company's TOS. Direct Linking is forbidden so don't even ask us if you can do it. If you don't have the space, don't bother putting up the clip. You may point them to this site but don't direct link ANY of our files.

Who does the general site maitenance?

Both Elly and Ruth do maitenance and it may change in the future if we "hire" a new staff member. Though we aren't perfect, we have tried our absolute best getting everything you see here to be correct. If you see something incorrect, please contact us.
