Memoirs of a Geisha Movie Download Information




While I strong encourage everyone to buy a copy of the movie on DVD (it is relatively inexpensive; you can get it for around $10-$20 USD depending on where you buy it) I realize that not everyone is going to buy the DVD of a movie they have never seen before just on my word that it's worth the money. If you are interested in seeing the movie but do not have the money to buy a copy, or just want to see the movie before you buy a copy, here are some steps you can use to find a download of the movie online:

  • Download and install the DivX codec pack. You will need it not only to view any online downloads of the movie, but you will also need it to view the DVD extra features that I have uploaded to this website.

  • Download and install a copy of the program BitTorrent. You will need this to download a copy of the movie.

  • Download and install a media player. I recommend Winamp or Media Player Classic.

  • Find a torrent of the movie. You can do this by going to google and searching for "Memoirs of a Geisha torrent", or you can simply go to this page and download the torrent there for the movie. I've personally tested the torrent I am linking to and not only does it work fine, but the movie download you'll get also works fine.

  • Once you have downloaded the torrent to your hard drive, open it using Bit Torrent. The download will begin. It will take a few hours to complete, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

  • Find the path to where Bit Torrent saved your download to, and open the .avi file in the folder with either Winamp or Media Player Classic. The movie should begin to play. If it does not, there are lots of resources online that can help you figure out which codecs you might need or what might have gone wrong with your download.

    At this time I am unable to host a direct download of the movie on my server, so you will have to rely on the existing torrents hosted elsewhere. If you've followed all of the steps above, I repeat, here is the link to the torrent you will need to download and save to get a copy of the Memoirs of a Geisha movie:
