E Eishin-an (英信庵) - literally means "prosperous truth retreat." It is a house that the Chairman purchases in northern Kyoto. Sayuri lives here with him for a while after he becomes her danna. ekubo (えくぼ) - means "dimple." It is a sweet rice cake that has a red circle in the middle, making them look very suggestive of breasts. geisha give them to men that they want to be their mizuage patrons. en (縁) - a karmic bond that lasts between two people for a lifetime. Etsuko - a little girl who lives at the Nitta okiya after World War II.
