Other "Memoirs" Media

I found the following videos related to Memoirs of a Geisha on YouTube doing a simple search for "Memoirs of a Geisha". But because videos and things tend to randomly disappear on Youtube because of a user quitting the site, or deleting their videos, or because of a copyright infringement that's been discovered, I've decided to locally host the videos I found that I liked so that visitors always have access to them. Here is a special look into the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha" before it was released. It was aired on the Today show on NBC with Katie Couric. This video also contains an interview with Ziyi Zhang and Michelle Yeoh, who played the lead roles of Sayuri and Mameha, respectively.

Memoirs of a Geisha Parody on Mad TV

A hilarious parody of the Memoirs of a Geisha trailer. Bobby Lee from Mad TV portrays Sayuri. Of course, it uses the common misconception that geisha are common prostitutes, but it's still a great laugh. Highly reccommended. =)

 This short piece was aired on NBC in December 2002 following the lawsuit between Mineko Iwasaki and Arthur Golden. It tries to explain the taboo of the geisha profession and the secrecy that it demands. For anyone interested in the everyday life of a modern geisha, or for anyone interested in the conflict between Iwasaki and Golden, this is a must-see.
