Sayuri's Theme

The cello in this piece is absolutely beautiful. Slow and sad, this track fits Sayuri's character perfectly. It reflects her hardships in dealing with the seeming absence of attention that the Chairman reflects around her. It is played in the movie during the scene where Sayuri throws the Chairman's handkerchief into the wind while standing atop a mountain; this scene was used briefly during one of the trailers. The same cello melody is used again in the ending credits and again during the "Garden Meeting" track.
