Chibiusa is the Silver Millenium Usagi and Mamoru's daughter, so she is sometimes referred to as Princess Serenity. Chibiusa's visage is rather deceiving because she is actually about 900 years old, but for some reason she never matured. Though she is 900 years old, she is still a child at heart. (People of the Silver Millenium tend to live for a very long time.) Chibiusa was raised as a Princess and tends to be somewhat of a snob, especially towards the present-day Usagi. All she really wants, though, is to finally become a lady like Usagi.

Chibiusa's first appearance is just as strange as her inability to mature. She plummets out of the sky, along with her Luna-P ball, and falls on Usagi and Mamoru (who, by the way, are about to kiss). Chibiusa eventually heads home with Usagi, much to Usagi's dislike. While there, Chibiusa hypnotizes Usagi's family into believing Chibiusa is Usagi's sister. Chibiusa is looking for something, but won't tell what it is. Eventually, it is revealed that she is looking for the Silver Crystal. Unfortunately, the Silver Millenium and Crystal Tokyo are a pile of rubble and Queen Serenity and King Endymion are essentially in a deep sleep. With Sailor Pluto's help, Chibiusa travels to the past to find the Silver Crystal and try to change her future.

There is another side of Chibiusa, a darker side, that was brought on with help from Wiseman. Chibiusa becomes Black Lady, a taller, stronger, and twisted version of herself. Chibiusa wreaks havoc on the senshi and hypnotizes Mamoru to love her, and only her. Chibiusa eventually snaps out of it after Sailor Pluto's death and returns to being her normal self.

Peace eventually returns to the Silver Millenium and Chibiusa is sent back to the future - wait! Chibiusa stays in the present to train as a sailor senshi. Chibiusa eventually befriends the frail Hotaru, who turns out to be Sailor Saturn. Chibiusa also develops a love interest for Helios, the pegasus and guardian of Elysion.
