Creator's Rant
Hi everyone! My name is Elly, and I've been a fan of BSSM anime and manga for around 6 years now. For five of those years I ran a website entitled Serena's Moon Palace. The website began when I was just 12 years old; now that I am older, and have changed, I felt that the site that I started with must grow with me. I found no reason to keep around an outdated, decrepit site when I knew I could make something much, much better.
When I first started surfing around on the internet, the Sailormoon Funny Faces Gallery was one of the first links to pop up on a Yahoo! Search when you typed in "Sailor Moon". It was one of my favorite sites until late 2000, when it just dissapeared, and the lovely page turned into a 404 error. How depressing.
I continued on with Serena's Moon Palace, and to some extent it became pretty popular. Even though it sported some snippets of code from my first attempts at HTML (from 1999, mind you! it was NOTHING like this) people liked it. I gained a huge list of affiliates and sister sites, and made a lot of friends. However...
I really, really missed the Sailormoon Funny Faces Gallery. To me, none of the newer Sailormoon sites could compare to the original sites on the web about the show, even though they had much more advanced HTML and much better layouts. Many of the newer sites dedicated to BSSM are good; excellent even, but I feel that the younger fans who are new to Sailormoon are missing out on some great sites that just plain don't exist anymore. So, this site was created.
Anyway, I'm in my last year of high school. That's right, folks; I'm a senior. I'm going to University at Albany this fall. I'm planning to major in Japanese Studies, which basically means that because I'm bad at math and science, I'm copping out and being a language major. HAHA! ...And yes, I reserve the right to mock Liberal Arts majors, since I'm going to be one =)
I've been studying Japanese for two years on the highschool level. I'm fluent in Dutch and almost fluent in Spanish. I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to new languages and diversity and all that crap, so if you hate gay people, or black people, or democrats...or anyone cool and groovy, leave me alone. I probably won't get along well with you. I should also mention that for as open-minded as I am, I can be pretty biased about some things. I absolutely DO NOT like people who try to convert me to their religion, or tell me I'm going to hell because I think Judaism is cool, or because I'm agnostic. I don't like being mocked because I don't love President Bush, and I especially don't like the people out there who tell me I'm wasting my time going to college because I'll "have no career".
I'm a little bit of a nerd, I don't have a whole lot of offline-friends (but the few I do have are wonderful!) and I have a wonderful boyfriend who supports me on most things. I've been dating Tim for more than two years now, so we're pretty bonded. I'm a rampant Sailormoon fan, but I am also the President of my Anime Club at high school, which boasts around 30 members any given meeting. I'm also a PGSM fan and have a website dedicated to it's music. Other than that, I'm pretty boring. Thanks for reading all of this!
