Episode 1: The Crybaby Usagi's Splendid Transformation

As soon as the episode begins, we are introduced to Usagi's typical morning: running around screaming because she's late to school yet again, almost forgetting her lunch, and generally rushing around yelling. On her way to school, Usagi comes across a couple of kids picking on a small, black cat (Luna). Usagi chases the kids away, and examines the cat, which has a few bandages on it's head. Usagi removes the bandages, and the cat actually has a crescent moon on it's head. Usagi remembers that she is supposed to be rushing to school, and runs off.
When Usagi gets to school, she finds out that she got a 30 on her latest algebra exam from her teacher (Haruna-sensei). To cheer her up, her friend Naru offers to take her to her mother's jewelry store after school. When they get there, they notice that Naru's mom is acting really strange, and is giving away everything in the store for really cheap (90% off diamonds! woo!). Usagi starts home. While walking along the street, Usagi accidentally throws her test at a mysterious man wearing sunglasses (Mamoru), who chides her for her "meatball head" and her horrible grades.
When Usagi gets home, her mother (Ikuko) asks her about her algebra test grade. Usagi finally hands the paper over, and her mother kicks her out of the house and tells her not to come back until she's studied more.
Meanwhile, the people in Naru's mother's jewelry store are having their energy drained. Naru's mother is actually being possesed by one of Jedite's youma, which is why she's acting so strangely.
In Usagi's home, Usagi is laying on her bed trying to take a nap. She notices a cat's figure over her. Luna begins talking about how she's found the sailor soldier of the moon, and Usagi thinks she's hallucinating. Luna tells Usagi how to transform, and that she has to go save Naru, who is in trouble.
Usagi transforms, goes over to the jewelry store, and with the help of Tuxedo Mask and Luna, defeats the youma. Jedite gets super pissed because his energy ball dies. The next day at school Naru is talking about her dream about Sailormoon, and Usagi said she had it too, but wants everyone to shut up because she's tired and wants to sleep.
